Here is a TMNT cake with a story attached 😜.
Received this order Wednesday night and only had 2 days to make it... Usually no problem. Thursday baked, stacked and ganached the cake, whilst busy with another order for Friday. All went according to plan.
But I had a dentist appointment on Friday, just to check on one tooth and maybe clean it as well...as it had a bit of pain the previous week, not a big deal right...
Well, it turned out, quite unexpectedly, and with a great shock to me, it had to be pulled, right there and then. It happened, one of my fears was actually turning into reality. I never shook so hard in my life, tears were rolling and my default of nervous laughter kicked to 6th gear!
After all that shock I finally got home to finish the cake. I got the fondant on easily as everything was still numb from the injections. Hahahaha then it came... The pain. Nearly passed out from it! Apparently I don't have a high tolerance for it and what was supposed to not be as painful became unbearable for me.
Now the stress sets in.... THE CAKE! How am I supposed to finish it with this pain? I can barley stand straight! So I did the only thing I could think off and asked on a support group for bakers on Facebook for help. The topper and the detail needed to be made.
Luckily Monique from Mo's Caketique came to my rescue ❤️❤️❤️. She madr the beautiful topper and put all the buildings and the name on for me! Without her this cake wouldn't have been done on time at all!
This showed me there is still good in this world and people willing to help even if it meant working late hours to help someone out in desperate need. Thank you so much Monique, I truly am grateful for your stand in when I wasn't able.
So here it is, a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream filling, covered in chocolate ganache and fondant, detail done by Mo's Caketique.
