The other day Dj Weld Defect - That Guy gave us a summary of his Vinyl Vine sharing a memory of the unboxing of his first ever turntables...

"I remember this day after unboxing the decks I couldn't wait to spin the collection of records I had gathered since 2012 when I started digging deep. At this time I had already made it to just one crate worth of music, dubstep being the biggest chunk of many genres in it.

I give thanks to Fredrik Dupont ; our digging sessions shaped my collecting habits profusely! Remember hopping hospices, treasuries and record stores, three months later you are leaving the country with boxes stacked with records? I knew then I'm on a crazy campaign 😅

Bonn Better Know you guys then played a key role in getting me started with the actual art of spinning wax by throwing me in the deep end with my first time on turntables - when we met I had never mixed vinyl records in my life but you had me on them promptly - I never turned back. Today I attribute my "first time" to you lot!

Omega Qambi my brother we have come a long way! The gems we have unearthed building our collection and sample library lead us to a room full of records from that one crate! Pops gifted us well with beauts from his library; oh the Jazz, the Funk❤️...

😅 Buti Sekhalanga too many memories flash! Dude I did my first sound sytem clash set with you, mc.... Your keen ear contributed more than just the music to the collection; the experiences with it are wow! That Mante Ribane release was pick bro. Large up!!!

The journey got even more interesting as a dj when I met the great Lirubishi (Jah bless his soul); I had met a heavenly match! This man got me feeling like I was part of something big - I wasn't alone in my madness for the love of collecting music and deejaying - the art and technicality of it all! He made me a part of a larger community as I was much of a loner in this part...

Life then blessed me with the dopest partner in love! Takalani Lubengo brother you're a puzzle piece my board has been missing! With you behind these decks I am complete! Bro imagine we are two rooms full of records😅 and it feels like we are nowhere near where we wanna be; my fellow addict. Grateful we are Vinyl Vine ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️"

What to bring;

- A Camp Tent and yourself🙂💃🏿🌻

- Day visitors are welcome too @ R120 a tag (Which includes a pass to the main event and 2 complimentary meals, lunch and dinner)

- All weekend pass is @ R420, includes all meals and accommodation (camping tent).

- If you bring your own tent you only pay for space and still buy your access ticket.

Please RSVP by the 06th of December (Wednesday) due to limited camping tents.

We to think it's a special thing, this record life; imagine waiting for a whole year to finally listen to that song coz you can't get it digitally or you've vowed not to.
