Hey everyone!

You may have seen me post here before, I'm the Founder and Director at Vuso’s Yard. We're hiring for an exciting role that will play an important part of our growth as a company.

Social Media + Community Manager

We consider ourselves outdoor enthusiasts. We love combining our two passions to create something that adds value to the lives of our community members, adventurers, and of course, we use our own culture too.

We are looking to bring on key members to the team — the Social Media + Community Manager is about as important as it gets. This role is for someone who has creative flair, an experimentalist mindset, and who is first in line to roll up their sleeves. You will be the voice of Vuso’s Yard on social media, develop and execute our social media strategy, and be an integral communicator and community builder.

It is important to note that we are a metrics-driven and agile team with experimental velocity as our daily mantra. Strategy is important, but testing, learning, and iterating more so.

Big picture: our mission is to help people experience the transformative effects of adventuring in the outdoors while supporting local artists and small businesses through the Stutterheim Festive Market and many other like projects.

What you’ll be doing:

• Be the voice of Vuso’s Yard on social media and one of the primary points of interaction for customers and potential customers

• Own social media channels and creatively promote content (articles, webinars, etc.) in an effort to increase shareability and engagement

• Develop and implement community strategy. Eager and willing to experiment and test ideas

• Cultivate an authentic connection among Vuso’s Yard customers, the company, and the guides. Focus on learning, understanding our users, trend identification, and how to improve the user experience

Experience we are looking for:

• 2+ years of experience working in community management (experience in the outdoors industry would be advantageous)

• Startup or small company experience, that includes ability to perform in agile and fast moving culture

• Exceptional prioritization and project management skills aligned with company success metrics and objectives

• Experience with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Website

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Comfortable writing a variety of externally facing communications (e.g., blog posts, social media posts, press releases)

• Passion for outdoor activities, such as hiking, running, mountain biking, camping, music festivals etc.

Salary and other benefits:

• Salary negotiable.

• Full Time position (open to Part Time for the right person)

• Remote

Are you looking for an aunthetic camping experience? Well look no further because Vuso's Yard has it all. Our Yard is about 2 hactares in size with no building on site. We are next to ANCA site - a chicken farm on Mountain View near Stutterheim about 7KM out.

Stutterheim Festive Market was a success and we had so much fun! Thanks to everyone who came and supported us in this initiative.

A big thank you to the Artists who came to perform and the business owners who booked stalls with us and sold their products. We had nice food from Baba's Kitchen and nice beverages from Fleur Du Vin Great connections were made and I am looking forward to more partnership with you guys in this business journey we are all partaking.

A special thanks goes to some of friends (who I won’t mention names on this platform) who believed in this dream, and even donated to make sure this becomes a reality. God bless you all.

For those that have donated so far, we’re grateful and would like to encourage those that haven’t done so to donate from as little as R10 as we are aiming at getting R2000 for two upcoming artists. Make a difference in the life of those that will be selling at the market, those that will attend the market but most importantly, help young & upcoming artists grow by allowing us to book them & give them a bigger exposure platform to grow their fan base.
