Did you know that 82 varieties of Protea are native to South Africa. The King Protea, our national flower, comes in several varieties, some more common than others.
If you are in the Port Alfred area our flowers are available from Lynn at Through the garden gate who you will find at the corner of Atherstone and Southwell roads opposite the Kowie Vet every Saturday morning.
We also deliver weekly to East London and Port Elizabeth.

Impepho, is the African version of incense and is burnt on many different occasions for various reasons.

Impepho also known Helichrysum is derived from the Greek word “Helios” meaning ‘sun’ and “chrysos” meaning ‘gold’ and this is because the flowers of this plant are of a golden-yellow colour.

Impepho, Is the most important plant used by traditional healers and apart from its very important spiritual properties it is used as an antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and pain reliever, amongst many others hence it is still the most widely used medicinal plant in Southern Africa today
