Hey FB Family:-)

I've just uploaded a few videos of my gear review for MarkBass South Africa on the new 58R series launched by Marco de Virgiliis and his amazing people at Markbass! HUGE thanks and gratitude for the brilliant service and support provided to me by the legendary Anton Stella who has been an integral part of building the Markbass brand globally!

I've got a literal unboxing video of the new 'Little Marcus' Amp Head and the '102 Pure' 2x10" Speaker Cabinet.
I've also added three videos of audio examples where I tweak the amp/cabinet and provide playing examples of my 1978 Fender Jazz, 1958 Fender Precision and Sire V7 Fretless.

I purposefully only used the audio of a normal cellphone microphone and chose to not record into my studio gear to avoid 'coloring' the sound and maintain the audio integrity...
I promise you that if my gear sounds good through my Markbass Bass Amps (and it DEFINITELY does!) recorded on a cellphone, I can guarantee that the sound of your playing into your Markbass amp will change your life as it has done mine and SOOO many other players across the globe!

It has been an absolute honour and privilege to have been able to grow a brand of amazing gear in South Africa and wherever I tour internationally. Hey FB Family:-)

I'm just putting some feelers out...

So I've been a MarkBass South Africa artist since day 1 (over a decade ago!) and have never looked back!
I've also been a Sire artist for about a decade now and can't stop buying their guitars!
Both companies have been constantly upgrading and varying their gear and I'm going to be acquiring some new gear over the next few months while still owning their earlier gear.

Would you be interested in me doing a workshop or two at a local music store in March and in May?

I've got some traveling in April and hopefully by then my equipment can be ordered and arrive so I can demo them with/for you. I've had a lot of requests over the last few years and the shops don't seem to do workshops anymore like they used to so I'm looking to change that so we can be a bit more clued up about gear and can enjoy what is on offer.

I've been an endorsed player for years but have NEVER been given any free gear firstly because that is not how it works and secondly because I truly value my gear and therefore I will pay for it! I'm not particularly special but I've been lucky to have a long career playing at the top of my industry locally and abroad and have needed superior equipment to maintain the quality of my sound.
But the gear I buy is not because I'm rich...if you know anything about me and our industry, it is that we live a 'hand to mouth' and very seasonal existence financially. Basically I'm more broke than I am flush with cash:-( Therefore the gear I buy MUST be solid, high-quality and affordable! Luckily dealing with people like MarkBass South Africa and some lekker shops/people like Music Experience you will get amazing deals on gear and enjoy phenomenal service!

102HF 2x10" Cabinet & Markbass F500 head (Older)
MB58R CMD 102 P Combo (New)

Sire
1st gen 5-string V7 (fretted & fretless)
1st gen 5-string M7

The gear I'm hoping to acquire is a new MarkBass amp head and the new Sire Musicman style bass (launching at NAMM as we speak).

I'll most likely also bring along my BOSS pedals and wireless rigs along to demo for you as well.

If you ask nicely I'd be happy to bring my Michael Tobias Design: MTD USA & Kingston 635-24 bass along for you to try out:-)

Please let me and or the companies I've tagged in my post know if you'd be interested and I'll make arrangements to set up a date or two and put out some ads...I'll prep some patches and songs so you can hear as many tones from my gear as possible:-)

Hey FB Family:-)

Please be sure to come and watch the amazing music producer and vocalist Heinrich Frans at the Cape Town Jazzathon tomorrow at the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town amphitheatre at 5pm. He will be joined by the legendary Kevin Gibson on drums, Dylan Roman on keys and myself on bass!

Its always such a privilege to play on that stage where most of my music career started over twenty-five years ago!! Looking forward to playing my trusty Michael Tobias Design: MTD USA & Kingston bass on a song that actually is quite significant for a number of reasons...come to the gig and I'll let you know:-)
