Choosing your bride tribe aint always easy. Make sure you think of who will ADD value to your experience and offer you support.
Don't pick someone because you don't want them to feel left out, or you are worried they will be upset if they are not picked, a real friend will be by yourside regardless or the title and matching outfits.

Wedding flowers, where to begin?

This is often the most exciting but also most overwhelming section for many.
As you get lost in the pintrest tunnel, pinning away and marveling over floral magic, setting your vision up only to receive your first quote that knocks you clean off your chair.
Flowers often cost alot more than one may think (or budget for). So this week I will chat to a florist to hear more on what goes into wedding flowers and find some good tips and tools that may help shed light on this beautiful section of your wedding celebration vision.

The pinterest perfect pressure society has create for everyone to have these over the top weddings, only shadow the true purpose of the celebration. To celebrate your love and union as a couple. Then when the day is done, everyone moves on, you are left looking at your relationship in whole new light.

I would strongly advise all couples to invest in premarital coaching &/ or couples coaching to ensure you have a strong foundation to your marriage. So when life throws you challenges (and we all know it will!) you can navigate them as a team and come out the other side stronger. This is something I advise not only for couples getting married but something you should do annually, to never stop growing and deepening your relationship. After all do send your car in for serves annually, do dental & health check ups and so much more each year. Do you service your relationship annually ?

The finishing touches 👌🏼

It's important to ensure you assign someone (if not a planner or supplier) to the finishing touches, because you, sure as hell don't want to be doing this as your rushing to go slip into your outfit before ceremony.

It's worth having someone to take care of the details you have put so much time, engery, effort and money into, to ensure it actually comes out how you envisioned. Or it will end up not happening or taking someone who you want to be with while you get ready away, while they (often a mother) runs around frantic and frazzled to make sure things are ready. Don't just assume it will be done, ask someone you trust, so you know you can count on them.

To have kids at the wedding or not to have kids at the wedding...? A big and tough question for most! What about your niece and nephew, or your besties new born, or your little cousins. This is not exactly an easy decision to for most, but you also don't want them being little terrors or ruining the party for the parents (the adults you invited to party with). ⁠

Here are some tips and options to help you make your decision, if you do decide to allow kids to be at the wedding.⁠
⁠
1. Make sure the kids are taken care of! HAPPY KIDS = HAPPY PARENTS. ⁠
⁠
2. Put them in super cute outfits so they look cute, but also so they feel special and apart of something.(gives them purpose) *p.s kids do what they want so don't expect them to go according to your plan, let it be natural!⁠
⁠
3. Have a parent or the cater make kids food boxes for them, which get served during canape's at a reasonable hour to avoid any hangry monsters. ⁠
⁠
4. Create a kiddies nook area, for them to play and be entertained, with toys colouring in and other games.Then if there is a room near by make a slumber party area where they can be put to bed, close enough for parents to feel calm but far enough for parents to enjoy with you.⁠

5. Book a nanny to watch over the kids! Having an adult or two present to watch over them, so everyone feels at ease.⁠

All things considered with these current times, many couples are either devastated they can't have their wedding at the moment, not sure when or how. It's ok to be feeling all the feels, remember your wedding day will come, in due time. What you do have is an opportunity to work on your marriage and your union-ship. Life is not perfect you don't have to wait for perfect or you will wait forever. ⁠

Accepting what we can not control is not always easy. Especially when you have worked hard to achieve a certain outcome.
If you have put the effort in to your planning, made sure your suppliers are booked and they know where to be and when. Then when your wedding rolls around, let it all go. It will all be exactly as it should be, letting go will allow you the opportunity to enjoy your day and embrace it for all the day has to bring (even if its not 100% perfect) its your day and it's happening so best you soak it all in, you wont get a second chance.
If you spend your day worrying and fretting on the details, then you won't enjoy your day and experience the joy of your wedding. If you don't enjoy your wedding then whats the point in having a wedding right!

TIPS to ensure you let go on your day: (if you don't have an on the day wedding planner, which I HIGHLY recommend)

1. Check in with all your service providers the week before the wedding. Confirm the wedding details with them.

2. Create a time schedule for the day, which you can send to all the service providers. so everyone knows when what is happening on the day and you wont have everyone asking you.

3. Do a walk through with your bridal party the day before, preferably at your venue if possible. Again so everyone else knows what you have planned.

4. Assign a point of contact person, the person who knows the details thats not you two! (MC is a great person) Then if people have questions they can channel it to them! *Give this persons contact info to your suppliers so they don't phone you for any delays or problems.

5. Trust you have put everything in place best you can, accept an ENJOY your wedding!

Sharing my view and experience of having best of both worlds and why it was so special to separate our legal signing, by doing a home elopement and then having our big wedding celebration later. It's a gift to have the opportunity to have both, it's not a necessarily a negative thing to get married before your wedding celebration. ❣
To have been able to share a very intimate and momentous moment with our parents there to witness it, was something I will never forget. Getting to soak in every emotion and word of out we were promising each other, was the greatest gift I could have asked for. It made the wedding celebration all that much more fun because there were no more nerves, of pressure of the legal commitment, plus it was a 1000x better than going to sit in homeaffairs to register out paper work 😁
