Today is the last day of the CLIC 2021 Virtual Conference. Thank you to everyone who's been part of it. It's been a successful virtual conference that offered a remarkable opportunity to share knowledge and ideas on a global platform.

Day 2 of conference started with some great reflections on yesterday. We had colleagues getting up in the middle of the night in the USA/Canada because they value connection so much - emphasizing that LICs are about relationships over time.

Do you have a vision for the future of health professions education - perhaps one that includes a focus on values, role models and interconnectedness? Are you passionate about enhancing clinical training, in spite or because of COVID-19? Do you wish for greater integration and continuity of learning in context?

It is less than a week to go before the start of the CLIC 2021 conference, during which we hope to explore these and other issues. We are very excited to be hosting this meeting of the Consortium of Longitudinal Integrated Clerkships (CLIC) from Stellenbosch university in South Africa, the first time it is being held in Africa, even though it will be virtual.

Professor Lebo Moletsane, from Durban, South Africa, will situate us firmly in context at the outset, when she explores an African perspective on values-based education. Dr Tim Dubé, from Sherbrook, Canada, will help us to think further about the place of communities as contexts for education. Dr Garth Japhet, CEO of Heartlines in South Africa, will look specifically at the role of stories in wellbeing and learning. Dr Vic McKinney and Jacqui Couper will share their own story of how an educator with quadriplegia could be a sculptor using the hands of a colleague, as an example of collaborative learning in action.

During many workshops and presentation sessions, opportunities for interaction with and learning from international colleagues will be maximised, despite the online environment. For those who are new to longitudinal, integrated training models, the ever-popular LIC101 session will be held on 9th October as a virtual pre-conference workshop.
