Mandile started in the events industry by loading and unloading gear in 2014. Due to his hard-working, can-do attitude, he quickly worked his way up to a lighting operator. His eagerness to learn led to more opportunities to upskill himself by standing in for other operators in different fields. He is a well-rounded, hard-working individual with working knowledge of all areas in the events industry. We are glad to welcome Mandile to our team. XLR Connector
The External Line Return connector, commonly known as the XLR connector, is an electrical conductor found on professional audio, lighting and video equipment.
The three-pin XLR connectors are by far the most common style and are an industry standard for balanced audio signals.

VGA
VGA is an analogue interface that transfers data from a PC to a monitor. The standard resolution used is 1024 x 768.
HDMI
HDMI is a digital connection that allows you to transmit audio and visuals simultaneously. The standard resolution is 1080i (1920 x 1080)
Mini Display Port
The Mini DisplayPort (MiniDP or mDP) is a smaller and less common version of the DisplayPort audio-visual digital interface. Multiple resolutions are used with a max of 4k (3840 x 2160).

16:9 or 4:3 ratio?
4:3 is the standard ratio as televisions, and computer displays were initially designed in this ratio.
16:9, better known as widescreen, is more commonly used today as you hardly find 4:3 displays.
If your presentation or content is designed in the wrong ratio, and you do not have time to redo the entire presentation before your presentation, it's not the end of the world. You can display 4:3 ratio content on a 16:9 ratio display and vice versa. You just need to be aware that the content will not cover the entire display area. For example, if you display a 4:3 ratio design on a 16:9 display, you will find that the left and right of the display area will be black. If you display a 16:9 ratio design on a 4:3 display, the top and bottom of the display area will be black.

Stop freezing up during zoom meetings.
Here is a list of requirements you should keep in mind if you have any connectivity issues during a zoom meeting.
Recommended bandwidth of 10Mb/s up and 10Mb/s down per user logged into a zoom meeting on a network.
Connect via an ethernet cable if possible.
Run your camera and videos at a resolution of 720p.
Disable all none essential videos during the meeting.

Long/ Wide shot
This is when the camera is positioned to see the person, presenter or the actor's whole body from head to toe. It looks like the person is the same height as the frame.
Medium shot
The camera is positioned to capture the person from the knees/waist up, a popular frame for presenters, especially when conducting interviews.
Close-Up
Very little of the background is visible, and the idea is to capture small facial expressions, not used as often in live environments.
Extreme Close-up
An extreme close-up is a magnification beyond what the human eye could experience in reality. This is an artificial type shot and can be dramatic.

In many cultures, the Talking stick is a powerful “communication tool” that ensures a code of conduct and respect is followed during meetings. The person holding the stick, and only that person, is designated as having the right to speak, and all others must listen quietly and respectfully.
Try using the same principle when you are heading a meeting or webinar. The person holding the microphone is the only one allowed to talk.

Animation can be adding movement to elements in your design or manipulating figures to appear as moving images. You can use both of these methods to add a bit of flair to your presentations and live streams. For example, you can adjust the amount of movement, speed and duration you want to add to your presentation by considering the feeling and message you want to relay to your audience.
Pro tip:
You can overwhelm your viewers with too much animation.

Both microphone options have a list of pros and cons that need to be considered when choosing either of the two. They there designed to be used in a specific environment.

Discreet
Great for video recordings, film and broadcast
Very good for dialogue recording
Can be positioned out of camera shots
Earset
Very small and lightweight
Discreet
Great for live panel discussions, film and broadcasting
Correctly placed can give better sound than other microphones
Visible on camera shots but nearly invisible
When choosing, make sure you understand the application to avoid hours of editing and frustration.

Unfortunately, we do not always have the luxury of running through the entire running order of events during set-up. This is why a run sheet can be a lifesaver; ask any event planner and coordinator.
A run sheet can be set up well in advance and sent to all the key role players for the specific event, and this will eliminate missed cues and confusion during the event.
