It was founded by Bianca, our designer, after a whirlwind holiday in the Seychelles. She observed beach weddings and noticed how the brides were wearing wedding gowns unsuitable for the warm and humid climate simil

Upon returning home, Bianca started her research on natural fabrics usage in bridalwear and desired something unique that could be a detachable adornment representative of South Africa that wouldn't fall off during wear and wash. So, Beyond Compare Bridalwear are created from natural fabrics unlike most wedding dresses that are synthetics made that tend to lose lustre and structure after the first wash/dry-clean and also when in storage. And that's a costly consequence why such bridalwear are resold or donated immediately after the wedding day. We source the natural fabrics from South African suppliers who actively promote health and sustainability. Did you know that natural fabrics get better with every wear and wash and feels so good on your skin no matter if your wedding is indoors or outdoors? Beyond Compare Bridalwear is community oriented which means that women in rural Mpumalanga and Kwa-Zulu Natal produce all the handmade beadwork. These women are talented and expert beaders who learnt beading at pre-adolescent ages from their grannies and moms. They understand shape and aesthetics and have the patience for time-consuming beadwork that is a labour of love. They bring all Bianca's sketches to life in the vibrant patterns that are non-duplicated because we embrace the uniqueness of every bride-to-be and bridesmaid(s). We only use Czech seed beads because these bead diameters are even and the colours don't rinse in water. Some of the beadwork are then packaged in unique baskets that are custom weaved for Beyond Compare Bridalwear by women in rural Zimbabwe. Based on demand, our lead time is 1-2 months to produce your dress and handmade beadwork that will be delivered via courier safely to your door.
