Although we had an outside ceremony planned and a run through of multiple alternative plans to keep it there, the heavens just opened and washed the earth clean for this beautiful couple’s new journey - a clean slate to make new memories in their married life 🙏
Despite the rain, it was a perfect day with the best people on board to bring this wedding dream to life.

We’d come so close to working at but when the pandemic hit, we got caught in a neverending loop of postponements and eventually cancellations so, when Steph made contact and told us where their wedding would be, the excitement to finally check this one off the bucket list was next level 😍
There’s something so captivating about the chapel’s architecture and just the farm in general that you can’t help from being stopped in your tracks when coming up close to it all.

Wowsers! 2023 has really been such an amazing year and we are so grateful for all the opportunities afforded to us to help bring event dreams to life!!
I just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to my team, my suppliers, fellow planners and florists, and especially my family. Without your dedication, hard work and sacrifices - well, we simply wouldn’t BE 💁‍♀️
THANK YOU! To each and every client who makes this ‘job’ the best experience every day. Thank you for your trust and for your appreciation and gratitude for what we do. It makes the (literal) blood, sweat and tears so worth it 💗
As we wrap up the year and take some much needed time off - from my home to yours, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! For those not celebrating, i hope that you get some time to just relax and reflect and reenergize for 2024!

5 Years…
Since i poured my heart and soul into this business that is my baby dream brought to life 🙏
And a little more since all the sacrifices started from my family who continue to make so many sacrifices to keep this dream alive and to whom i am eternally grateful 🙏
Since our very first styled shoot which in itself was a “pinch me” moment 🙏
Since i started working with some of THE best people i know and whom have shaped and moulded me into the person I am now 🙏
Since we did our first big wedding and i cried and i fell in the mud and i got soaked and i cried some more 🫣
And more than 100 events were brought to life because of my incredible team and the planners, clients, family and friends who entrusted us to make the magic happen 🙏
And we’re still going strong… 🙏
And proud is a freakin’ understatement 🙏🙏🙏

Hey everyone ☺️
I am a firm believer in giving back to our community no matter how small or big the contribution is.
We all need to remember where we started, where we came from and who we’ve become as a result of the influences of the people and places that we have crossed paths with.
Once such place, with so many beautiful people, is . Specifically their Somerset West branch here in Cape Town.
We had the absolute pleasure again of providing them with a backdrop for their appreciation day celebrations with the very generous sponsorship from .
It’s moments like these that really make me so proud to be South African and the gratitude of those we sponsor is incredibly humbling.

I thought i’d pop in and tell you some more about ME before we head into a super busy season and also in case you’re looking for someone to be fully invested in bringing your event dream to life ☺️👋
I think it’s vitally important to tell others about yourself because that helps us make a connection before we even exchange a single message/email/phonecall!
Isn’t that just amazing?!
So here goes…

Husband: Christian (My schatzie)
Kids: 8 year old daughter - Ella-Marie (going on 18 🙄🙄)
Pets: 2 furkids whom we both rescued during Covid - Dani & Riley
Favourite Food: Everything except snails & maybe brains 🙅‍♀️
Favourite Colour: Pink when i was younger & could pull it off 🤣 but Black now - it just goes with everything 💁‍♀️
Favourite Cocktail: Pina Colada (or suntan lotion - an old colleague called it that 😅)
Red Wine or White: Red defs
Favourite Movie: How much time do you have? 🤔🤔 would tell me my answer should be the LOTR trilogy & i’d probably agree if i was forced to give a quick answer 🤣
Hobbies: Singing, reading a seriously good romance/romantic comedy novel 💗
Fun Facts: I would love to get into themed corporate events because it allows your creativity to just run wild 😍
I’m allergic to grass pollen so i have to take ‘drugs’ before i style for every event.
I don’t consider myself to be photogenic so any pic of me is secretly taken or when i can’t say no 🤣
I love Turkish TV series!! They remind me of an era long gone & are so conservative in nature.
I would take in all the stray dogs in Cape Town if i could - i love & worry about them THAT much!
I don’t have a niche client!! 🤐 by choice. I offer our services to every kind of client & in doing so, we’re constantly learning by doing different styles across events & for where we don’t know what to do, we bring on freelancers who do & so we get to learn something new yet again. Total win-win situation 👏🏻

People - i don’t know about you but this year has been HARD!! It’s like couples decended on SA when lockdown ended & we were all afraid to even blink. On the one hand, it’s been great to be busy again & on the other, it’s been crap being SO busy that we’ve barely had time to sit down & take a breather.
Admin keeps piling up, prices keep soaring on everything, people have become impatient, maintaining a work life balance is close to impossible & life in general has just become so fast-paced that we all seem to be living past each other.
How sad 😔
In steps Optimistic Olly & says “hang on - this year has been great! Why??”
You’ve grown in leaps & bounds & so has your business!
You’ve welcomed new staff onto your team & you’ve found the perfect balance in getting the work done quicker & smarter! Go kickass team 💃🙌
You’ve had amazing clients & you’ve worked at venues that have been on the bucket list for a while!
You’ve made new friends & made old friendships stronger!
You’ve watched your mini human grow another year older & she’s fierce as hell just like her mama!
Your mama kicked the big ‘C’s behind & continues to be the amazing human that she is!
You have a partner who is behind you 110% & is your sound board & practically your second brain!
And the list goes on…
All i can say is how grateful I am for everyone we cross paths with on a daily basis & some not so regularly. You shape who we are & what our business represents. Without you we are nothing.

This post is meant to serve as a friendly reminder to ALL vendors rather than a call out. I don’t know if it’s a matter of not knowing better or laziness but it’s a bad habit that needs to be broken!
We’re supposed to be about & all that but honestly, after surviving a pandemic & having our businesses survive too, has made for some really nasty, rude people!
I find myself pondering, very often, whether it’s all worth it anymore because of exhaustion, physical & mental, diva complexes, backhandedness, backstabbing, pettiness, lack of motivation because of the people we now have to deal with, constant price soaring, ghosting, zero time for family, no time for yourself because people just have no respect for business hours & personal time & most importantly, people posting YOUR work everywhere on social media or their websites or even in articles/blogs/magazines & they don’t credit you!
Hours upon hours are spent working out designs for each & every one of our clients & even more hours are spent bringing that design & vision to life. It doesn’t matter whether it’s the biggest event or the smallest event you’ve ever worked on. Hell, it doesn’t even matter how small your contribution may have been to that event. What matters is that you did contribute & that you DESERVE to be recognised for that contribution.
I feel like this shouldn’t have to be said. We all know that word of mouth & crediting is a huge marketing source for all suppliers that brings in new business & also helps with networking, promoting collaboration.
It’s really not that difficult people. A simple mention goes a long way. I don’t have the energy or mental capacity to work on events with repeat offenders anymore. You want us to credit you but you never credit us.
Also, photographers, at least have the decency to answer our messages/emails when we ask for photos that we’ve literally got permission from our clients to request. Ghosting us is so not cool.

G H O S T I N G - Dear Potential Client/Supplier,
It literally takes us hours, sometimes days, to put together a quote for you or your client so, please 🙏🙏 have the decency to let us know if you’re not going ahead with our services.
Why?
a) because it’s the right and polite thing to do.
b) it means we can open the date again for someone else to request a quote.
c) it saves us time and effort from following up mutliple times with no response.
d) it creates frustration and results in suppliers charging for quotes.

Please remember these points as well:
- it’s okay to say no. If a supplier is out of your budget range then, tell them so, either they can work with what you have or they can’t. It really is as simple as that but be honest upfront so, that you avoid unnecessary back and forth communication.
- be realistic about what you can afford. Everything is expensive. Fuel price hikes, Covid effects on flower growth and pricing, general inflation, living costs, material costs, etc. etc. all impact your quote.
- don’t make the mistake of thinking that when you get a decor and flower quote it’s as black and white as that. I.e. 1 flower arrangement can consist of: the design (intellectual property), vessel, oasis, water, tape, wire, product (flowers/greenery/dried), other consumables, labour and collections from all the relevant suppliers. And to get it to you and placing it on site would mean a transport cost and a setup cost. And 9/10 times we would need to collect and return the hired items as well so, that’s an additional cost. See how it all sums up??
-hanging installations are nowhere near cheap. They need tons of product to create that Pinterest look you’re after.
- we are human too. We have lives, families, other responsibities and other clients. Please be respectful of boundaries. We have set working hours and if we answer you outside of those times, it’s because we know it’s urgent and won’t keep you waiting until the next day. You’re of course welcome to email, message. watsapp message us but we will answer in working hours.
