Ladies
and Gentlemen allow us to introduce to you, a legend who needs no introduction at all.

Bryan Dumisani Sakhile Ndlazi, known to many as the infamous & in some circles Billy Jackson was born & raised in Mamelodi,(a township in the eastern part of the capital city Pretoria) has become a sort iconic figure in the local dance music scene. Since his coming of age and growing up in the golden age of hip hop culture he was had pressed to follow in the footsteps of his idols DJ Jazzy Jeff, Jam Master Jay and DJ Kool Herc by learning the tricks of how to mix up different sounds on vinyl records.

This one is not to be missed on Thursday the 27th of June 2024.

DJ Bubbles also known as Billy Jackson or Bubblingo in some circles is a vinyl enthusiast, record collector, music historian, researcher, street journalist, record producer, cultural activist based in Pretoria who’s been active in the music industry for close to three decades. His voyage into sound began early in childhood as both his parents were avid record collectors and on occasion at family gatherings would help out in changing songs when the grown ups had their hands full. This is why it came as no surprise to the family when he became a DJ while still in high school in the mid 1990's. Later on, township house parties and school dances would serve as the perfect training grounds to land him residencies in some of Pretoria's most notable nightclubs.

Bubbles has since made guest appearances at conventions and music festivals that celebrate artistic excellence such as the Design Indaba Music Circuit 2014, Oppikoppi Odyssey & Park Acoustics, Red Bull Music Festival 2018, MTN Bushfire Music Festival 2019, Smoking Dragon Music Festival 2019, Avant-garde pres. DJ Spinna at Carfax 2019 to mention just a few. These days, DJ Bubbles can be found playing sets at reputable establishments like The Chairman in Durban, Selective Live and One Park Sound Bar in Cape Town, The One Room in Port Elizabeth and various dance & jazz clubs in Johannesburg.

Not too long ago I received a heart warming love letter in my dms from this gentle giant whom I hadn’t seen in years when I was feeling really low which lifted my spirits. I had been meaning to drop by his kitchen for the longest time so when the opportunity finally presented itself I had to oblige. We reminisced, we laughed and most importantly we broke bread which is exactly what my soul needed. Just thinking back to the past weekend fills me with immense gratitude.
