This annual pageant is a search for individuals with leadership skills, dynamic personality, good communication skills and confidence. Modeling experience is NOT a pre-requisite, although it does benefit the contestant to have poise, grace and confidence; several winners have, prior to entering this event, never set foot on a ramp before.
*Everyone that enters participates in the provincial pagean
t, as we believe in giving every entrant the opportunity of this experience. The judging criteria include: personality projection, confidence, leadership qualities, communication skills and natural exuberance, beauty & outfit. There are no height or weight restrictions, but a healthy lifestyle in advantageous. Round 1 : 9am – Registration & Interviews: Corporate Wear. After registration you will go for your interview. You will introduce yourself to the judges, and they will then ask you questions related to your introduction. The interview is NOT designed to stress you out. The Interviews are essentially an opportunity for the adjudicators to get to know the contestants before the gala event judging. The junior contestant may take 1 spectator into the judging room with them, but the spectator may, under NO circumstances, communicate with the adjudicators AT ALL. You will be interviewed in English OR Afrikaans, whichever you refer. The judges are friendly and conversational. NO religious or political questions will be asked. Contestants may leave after their interview. They need to return to the venue at the time given in the Pageant Guide, dressed in their gala evening outfit. There will be a photo shoot prior to the pageant. Round 2 of Judging: Gala Event: 1 Formal Evening Dress / Outfit of your choice
Age appropriate clothing is of the utmost importance, contestants will be penalised for wearing inappropriate outfits, eg. Revealing clothing, shoes they cannot walk in, bra straps showing, etc. Remember, how you dress says a lot about you. Each finalist will walk the ramp twice, No introduction or speaking on stage. NO Make-up may be worn by girls 12 yrs and younger; ladies aged 13+ are expected to wear make-up and be well groomed, eg. Guys may not wear visible make-up.
