The previously known HOMEMAKERS Expo has a brand-new jacket, and it is full of fun and fair – HOMEMAKERS Fair. 2023 takes HOMEMAKERS Fair to an established 28 years of hosting home improvement events and boy o boy...have we got a show in store for you! Join us at the Johannesburg HOMEMAKERS Fair from 24 – 26 March 2023 at our new home, Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit & International Convention Cen

tre. The move takes us back to our roots, as our first expo was held here back in 1994. Now, Kyalami has revamped this venue to a world-class standard. It is well-situated with easy access, loads of parking, state-of-the-art facilities, not to mention the incredible view. HOMEMAKERS Fair offers you, the homeowner, the best fair in Home Improvement & Renovations, Finishes & Furniture and Outdoor Spaces. The main arena space includes everything from roofing, waterproofing, flooring, doors and windows to kitchens, bathrooms and braais. Thrown into the mix are gorgeous finishes which includes walling, cladding, lighting, cornices, appliances, beds, décor and
furniture. Lastly, we finish off with outdoor spaces which includes plants, pots, landscaping to pools, gates and modern paving. The structure of the new venue allows for a wide range of activities across four levels, which will be used to host brand new breakaway and pop-up activities in dedicated zones that will appeal to each member of the household. Feature areas such as Artisan, Fashion & Beauty will showcase designers and creators of hip and happening products, perfect as gifts or spoiling yourself. Support local and unique handmade beauty products, clothing, jewellery and accessories. Also featured will be designer crockery and exclusive
kitchenware. Part of any South Africans’ make-up is most definitely great food and a “lekker kuier”. Join us for brekkie, lunch or dinner at the Outdoor Food Truck Dining Zone, where you can enjoy freshly made street food and delicious local favourites. At The Eatery you can stock up for the pantry, enjoy warm comfort food and of course something to satisfy your sweet tooth. Snack while you browse or take home some delicious treats to enjoy while you plan your next renovation. Decided to embrace “Meatless-Mondays”?

This flavour-packed veggie curry is easy to make and hard to resist.

✨ What you’ll need:
• Root veggies: Potato, sweet potato, carrot, or butternut.
• Add-ons: Green beans, cauliflower, broccoli, spinach, or peas.
• Curry essentials: Your favourite spice blend, coconut milk or cream, and rice, flatbread, or poppadoms to serve.

🔥 How to make it:
1. Toast your curry spices in a dry pan for maximum flavour.
2. Add oil, then brown your root veggies with the spice mix—this flavours them, not cooks them!
3. Pour in coconut milk or cream and let the root veggies soften while the sauce bubbles.
4. Add softer veggies (green beans, spinach, etc.) and cover to steam until tender.

🍅 Sambal Sidekick:
• Dice tomato, cucumber, and peppers, then season.
• Mix mango and pineapple with a sprinkle of paprika for a fruity twist!
Serve with rice, flatbread, or poppadoms, and enjoy!
