Heads Up Communications was created and is headed by CEO Candice Jansen, a 20 year media and promotions professional who designed and produced hundreds of campaigns and events in Cape Town and across South Africa. She spier-heads a powerhouse team of professionals specializing in media management and production services with a focus on public relations and brand extension.
Candice began her media career at (SABC) South African Broadcasting Corporation and three years later was head hunted by Heart 104.9FM (P4 Radio) as their Promotions Manager. Duties included; promotions, on-air competitions, event management and was responsible for the external marketing of the radio station.
While at P4 Radio Candice accepted an exchange programme invitation from a U.S.-based radio station in San Fransisco, California where she obtained invaluable insight into the highly competitive US media marketplace.
In 2007 Heads Up Communications was launched from her kitchen table. With just two clients to support her dream, she created one of the premier PR boutique firms in the Western Cape.
Candice is a graduate of Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) (Journalism), Damelin College (PR) and the AAA School of Advertising (Account Management in Advertising).
In August 2011, she completed a leadership course through Common Purpose (an international NGO).
In 2012 she was part of mentorship programme with YPO (Young President’s Association). She recently completed an online Digital Marketing Course. She is currently being coached by New Insights Life Coaching.
