We are battened down, while the weather plays with us today at tienpunteen, the annex to Spekboom Cottage. We have a tiny cooking station, an Airfryer and a single inversion plate basically. Today’s lunch was a steak sandwich, with a mixed salad (radicchio leaves included 💜), and a low fat Caesar dressing on ciabatta. Thanks to Spar Oudtshoorn for the delicious rump and OK Market Calitzdorp for the rest.

Secret Chef has opened a not so secret cottage available for holiday lets in Calitzdorp and we will be renaming this page in a couple of weeks. While we are renovating we have only a small Airfryer and an induction plate. What do you suggest we cook to keep our skills up?

We have been renovating and only have an Airfryer and an induction plate. But here we are! Pork belly perfectly done in 45 mins. We served with cauli mash (with truffle oil) and some roasted carrots and baby fennel (added to the Airfryer at 15 mins to go) so please excuse the delay. Tops of fennel, rosemary in Saki to keep it moist. Rubbed with five spice and salt.
