APOLOGY AND CONDEMNATION LETTER.
Colleagues, Friends, Ladies, and Gentlemen, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who showed up at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium. Your energy and enthusiasm were outstanding.
Let's address the facts and not false statements. On August 2, 2024, we hosted "Fill Up Levy Mwanawasa Stadium with Yo Maps," which saw thousands in attendance. The event was progressing well and individuals near the stage can agree that their was a click of individuals who started throwing objects on stage while our main act, Yo Maps, was performing even before the power disruption. Security quickly intervened, and the culprits were dispersed outside the stadium.
We had planned this event to ensure everyone’s enjoyment and took all necessary measures to prevent issues, including coordinating with ZESCO to adjust the load shedding schedule in favor of the event, which they did approve and we went further by still putting in place a backup generator power supply. Unfortunately, despite these efforts, there was a brief interruption in power supply, which was promptly restored in a few minutes before we could even switch to our backup generator power supply which was in readiness to be used.
We condemn the actions of those who disrupted the event by throwing objects. Their behavior was unacceptable and endangered the safety and enjoyment of others.
We extend our sincere apologies to the general public for the disruptions caused by these individuals. We are committed to improving our future events and ensuring a safer, more enjoyable experience for all attendees.
Please accept our deepest apology.
