Hi....my name is Evans Zvimba, a student at Msasa Industrial Training College. l am in my first year studying Diesel Plant Fitting hence l am running for president for President under the motto ,"Competent Leadership, Comprehensive Change."
If l were to describe my campaign within four words, these words would be Transparency, Accountability, Engagement and Representation.
As the president of SRC l seek to focus on the enforcement of democracy in the Student Representative Council by:
*Creating an SRC to look into individual students cases that are in breach of the honour code of conduct, to offer them representation to the school disciplinary committee.
*empowerment of the most vulnerable students thereby abolishing heavy penalties and enabling students to stand up for their rights and oppose any unfair prejudice.
*promoting academic achievement by reviewing ways to prevent multi campus scheduling in subsequent lessons.
*l will also assist sidelined students due to personality clashes, that is a form of psychological bullying and suppression of the girl child ( mwana anofoiriswa nekuti aramba lecturer). Time for this is up.
*forging lasting relationships with other colleges, polytechnics as well as universities and students across Zimbabwe. l will see to it that, the SRC under my presidency forges partnerships, networks, collaborations and more interaction with other colleges across Zimbabwe.
*we are going to introduce suggestion and feedback boxes at the campus, for students to lodge in feedback, queries and concerns to the SRC. I will therefore respond to unique issues on a monthly basis.
*as President, l will also hold two monthly meetings- one at the beginning of every month and another at the month end to hold each other accountable for our own progress.
*this manifesto will also address how my Administration will enforce the principles of democracy through representation, accountability and participation through my tenure.
l am excited to embark y this journey with you and looking forward to engaging with you.
