Zenith Sports and Event Management

Zenith Sports and Event Management "getting it right ... in and out of the stadium" Our unique services and business strategies deliver total management.

The origins of Zenith Sports and Event Management go back to the mid 1980s, when founding partner Chris Tanner travelled the suburbs of Sydney Australia, selling advertising space in indoor sports centres. Over the following decade he established himself as a successful sports and events marketer, applying the science of marketing to the industry that he loved. "It is not about selling your sport,

it is about using your sport to sell products for your client and enhance his bottom line” he said at the time. His drive, and passion to do things the right way, saw record sponsorship incomes, ground attendance, membership numbers and commercial partnerships occur in sports such as rugby league, football, surfing, boxing, aerial skiing, indoor cricket, motor racing, squash and sailing. In 1996, he formed Zenith Sports and Event Management, after prompting from former England international footballers Tony Woodcock and Kenny Sansom. Both were impressed by Zenith’s strategies for athlete management and event production, and urged him to broaden operations on a global scale as soon as possible. Zenith now spans the globe, servicing the needs of athletes, coaches, officials, clubs, groups, and national federations. We work across a range of sporting codes, and we deliver a wide range of events (sports, music, community, cultural) from planning to conclusion. Zenith Sports and Event Management offers the experience and expertise that gives all of their clients “the winning edge”.

.. he's right.

Here’s an idea – how about the Matildas concentrate on playing football and forget about the off-field hype.

A great celebration of the 1974 Subway Socceroos today at NSW Parliament House, the 50th anniversary of our first appearance at a FIFA World Cup. Well done Football Australia and also some of our colleagues helping to keep history and legacy of the Socceroos and CommBank Matildas prominent - Greg Werner, Roger Sleeman, and Andrew Howe.

Thank you to Chairman Anter Isaac and CEO James Johnson for their kind invitation.

We're excited to hear that A-Leagues fan favourite Maria Jose Rojas is returning to Australia to feature on Optus Sport's coverage of the 2024 Copa América.

Rojas is currently playing in Chile with Santiago Morning Futbol Femenino, who will have a week's break allowing her to return home to Australia to add her expert analysis to the broadcast.

She'll then return to Chile and finish the season, before coming home to the A-League.

Chelsea Football Club’s leadership has been a beacon in the UK, signalling the dawn of a transformative era in the upper echelons of women’s club football.

As the women’s sport fortifies its presence both on the field and in the public eye, it’s disheartening to see some Australian clubs still regard women’s football as a burdensome afterthought.

A recent revelation from a club during client negotiations was telling: “We’re awaiting the announcement of the women’s minimum wage, as we plan to offer only the minimum to each squad member.” This mindset isn’t isolated within Australia’s A-Leagues. Another club candidly admitted, “Our participation is out of obligation, not choice,” in reference to the A-League Women’s competition.

We recall the prescient words of Football Australia’s James Johnson, who confidently forecasted that the CommBank Matildas would ascend to become the organisation’s flagship brand - a prediction that has come to fruition. The economic influence of women’s football is undeniable.

Yet, numerous Australian clubs continue to undervalue their women’s teams, relegating their financial considerations to the leftovers of the men’s team’s budget. This calls for a fundamental overhaul of both financial and marketing strategies.

The advocacy for women’s clubs to stand independently from their male counterparts has been longstanding, whether unified under a single brand or distinct identities, akin to Canberra United Football Club or various clubs in the USA and globally.

Potential commercial partners are poised, ready to invest. It’s time for the football industry to shift its paradigm.

May 31 – With Chelsea Women entering a new era, and Sonia Bompastor replacing Emma Hayes who has already landed in the US for her new role as women’s national team manager, the club has unveiled a long-term strategic plan to develop the women’s team as a stand-alone entity to the men’s team ...

A big thank you and well done to the management at A-Leagues for reinstating the right protocols and restoring Shannon Warren's place as the only person who should be presenting the medal named in honour of her father.

The naming of the medal was an honour accepted by Johnny himself well before his passing, and is no way connected to any organisations or individuals who have attempted to ride on Johnny's coattails after his passing.

The medal and its title belong to the game, with John's acceptance and approval.

Well done John, well done Shannon.

Some time ago, we were at the forefront of global recognition of the epidemic.

Our friend Dr Craig Duncan, an expert in his field, and a number of Australia's sports scientists outlined the physiological differences between male and female athletes and how training methods need to be tailored and conducted accordingly for each gender.

Good to see the good old player unions pretending to be ahead of the game (again).

As women's football maintains its rapid rise, more and more needs to be done to stave off this threat to athletes' careers.

Last week, the union introduced "Project ACL" aiming to address the multiple factors linked to increased ACL tear risks in female footballers.
