Aaron Russ, with 22 years of experience in the Entertainment Lighting Industry, began his career while still at High School in New Zealand, working part time then progressing to a full time Lighting Technician at Oceania Lighting where he was given the opportunity to work with some of the most prominent people in the industry. His years of experience at Oceania Lighting saw him working on highly a
cclaimed live events like the New Zealand Fashion Week, extensive touring concerts, corporate events, music festivals such as Big Day Out and Summer Dayze and The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe film set , Top of the Pops TV Show and as the Lighting Designer for Back to Yours TV show many corporate events and live concerts as well as theatrical productions of Annie, Twelfth Night, Joseph, Jesus Christ Super Star and Grease. Aaron, as anyone who seeks to build a successful career within his profession, worked at all levels of the Lighting Industry starting as a Lighting Technician and Systems Engineer, to Crew and Production manager. His hard work and the experience gained over the years in New Zealand then motivated this dedicated professional to use his skills to make his mark across the globe. London was his first stop where he worked as a freelancer until he was eventually head hunted down for a position in Dubai before settling into Production Technology LLC (Protec), Dubai as its Chief Lighting Designer. Protec is the largest event equipment rental company in Middle East and among the top 6 in the world. For the last 5 years Aaron has been working not only in the UAE, but across the whole EMEA region on some of the most eminent and biggest events such as The U.A.E National Day celebration for the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways 10 Year Anniversary, The Zayed Future Energy Prize, Qatar Gas Inauguration, Khalifa Port Opening Ceremony, FIFA Beach Football World Cup Dubai and many more prestigious events. Aaron’s successful career stint in Dubai has seen him nominated for two Lighting Design of the Year Awards at the Middle East Event Awards for his work on the opening of the Audi Showroom in Dubai and the Khalifa Port Opening Ceremony.
