Our Story

Word from the Coordinator & Co Owner (Mrs. Nashelly Haywood)

Shels Unique Creations is a family business which offers Events Planning, Coordination and Decoration. We specialize in Fabric Designs. Our business was established in 2007. The idea came about when I found my passion for Events Coordination/ Planning. Within the latter part of 2007, I got married and my husband became a very valuable asset within our business. We began offering Events Planning/Coordination but eventually added Decoration to our services. We also found fabric decoration to be more appealing as it screams elegance and sophistication.

Most of the events we have coordinated were events for Telem, Motorworld, Thrifty and Caribbean Auto, Coast Guards, Belair Fitness Center and Public Cultural Food Festivals among others.

My husband focuses on beautifying ceilings, stage background, doors, or any other space with fabric. While my role entails meeting with clients, understanding their needs and creating a package that would best meet their requirements. I also focus on the ground setup such as the table setup, chairs, and other decoration needs.

Word from the Designer & Co Owner (Mr. Sherland Haywood)

The truth is, I did not study designing. I can humbly say that this is a natural talent, skill and ability that I have discovered. I often times do not refer to myself as a decorator; however, I take pride in whatever I do, regardless of the task. Sometimes, I sketch a design and other times when I begin the ideas and creativity flow. I believe it goes without saying that once you put your mind to do something and you pursue it with all of your heart, you are able to be effective.

Fabric decoration requires patience, but at the end of the process, it is all worth it, to see the look on our clients face depicting great satisfaction and excitement. They express great joy to see the space transformed and their common reaction is “WOW!”
