Abraham Vázquez’s (Presenciamomento) (Mexico) artistic proposal is an immaterial platform of knowledge that the artist calls ‘olfactory thinking.’ This platform integrates an artistic research methodology that incorporates concepts, modes of making, and thinking from perfumery, as well as strategies from contemporary art, to examine specific contexts through an olfactory analysis from a transdisciplinary perspective.

From an artistic action in public space, where the body dissolves into the smell of Mexico City, through an art object in which a perfume is everything that is not inside a bottle, to an olfactory installation that questions the idea of “us” within a common territory, Presenciamomento’s work is a bet on the fiction contained in the subjective sense of smell to question objective real ways of life.

Symposium 2024

Abraham Tettey (Ghana) is a cultural practitioner based in Accra, who uses exhibition making as a medium to explore the dynamic interplay between curation, artistic expression and spatial dynamics.
His approach to exhibition-making acts as a form of cultural cartography, charting the intricacies of human experience and the intersections of artistic expression. Tettey critically examines and reimagines the dynamics inherent in cultural production, presentation, and audience reception, thereby cultivating inventive and inclusive cultural experiences.

In 2006 Sito Schwarzenberger 🇦🇹 began making Art, following his parents footsteps and becoming a member of their K.U.SCH. art group. Since then he participated in numerous exhibitions in various countries. Especially their multiple studio residencies in China had a substantial impact onto his life and artwork.
Sito’s artwork speaks future sign language, representing life with imaginary and pure digital forms – although from time to time mixed with analogue drawing and painting techniques – you could call it «pictogrammatic konstructivism».
Not to forget his abstract Projection Installations and his absurd Objects as well as conceptual Installations, tending from immersion to subtle criticism of society.

Mona Rabofsky’s artistic work is transdisciplinary and cross-genre, although she likes to describe herself as a conceptual ceramicist. The works are linked by the search for gaps, truths and boundaries within various areas of artistic and cultural practices and realities as well as materials in a philosophical and physical sense, driven by the question of the essence of things.

Kurt Spitaler uses wood and everyday objects for his sculptures. These materials are combined with plastic ropes and bristles to create unusual objects that consciously exceed the conventional generic concept of sculpture. Spitaler succeeds in inscribing a certain lightness in his sculptures, which manifests itself in both the form and the material.
The reduction to simple basic shapes and the principle of serial additive determine the striking effect of his works - the playful attention to detail only comes after the basic shapes have been determined.
The mundane, banal construction bucket becomes something completely new when combined with a multitude of cable ties. Removed from its functional everyday use, it becomes a sculptural object that goes significantly beyond the mere setting of the “ready-made” and literally undergoes a metamorphosis.
