How to Audit Your Season and Plan What Comes Next

A new season is starting. 🍂
And before you throw yourself into new projects, new repertoire, and new goals…
take a moment to pause.

Because running faster means nothing if you’re heading in the wrong direction. 💭

📝 Step one: Look back before you look ahead.
What worked for you last season?
What didn’t?
What made you grow — and what drained you?
Awareness always comes before progress.

🔍 Step two: Collect your data.
Watch your videos, read feedback, notice patterns.
Which arias got strong reactions?
Which programs opened doors?
That’s not coincidence — that’s information.

🎯 Step three: Define your focus for this season.
Don’t chase more.
Chase better.
Choose one or two clear goals — and make every “yes” align with them.

🧭 Step four: Align your actions.
Every rehearsal, every email, every audition should point toward your bigger picture.
That’s what it means to plan with intention.

🌿 Step five: Protect your rhythm.
A season is not a sprint.
Plan your rest as carefully as your repertoire.
Silence is part of your technique too.

This season, don’t start on autopilot.
Start aware.
Start focused.
Start with a plan.

Yesterday, the Dramatic Voices Competition took place, featuring the annual prize that Gabriele Lechner left behind. 🌹
Gabi was not only a great singer and an inspiring teacher, but above all, a truly wonderful person. 💫

🎭✨ Yesterday we visited the Slovak National Opera in Bratislava — my very first time there! I was truly amazed by the fantastic acoustics of the new opera house and how close it is to Vienna — just about an hour away! 🚗💨

The production we saw were wonderful, with outstanding quality on every level. I won’t reveal the title 😉 ( ) but we enjoyed it so much! And what a joy to meet and greet some of my husband Peter Edelman’s former colleagues — including the legendary Dvorsky brothers, such remarkable tenors! 🎶❤️
