Im DJ Workshop von Turntablista geht es darum, die Grundlagen des DJings mit Hilfe von Platten zu erlernen. Wir werden auf Vinyl-Schallplatten üben, da es bei Plattenspielern keine Displays oder andere visuelle Parameter gibt, was es uns ermöglicht, uns besser auf unsere Ohren als auf unser Sehvermögen zu konzentrieren. Beim DJing – wie in jeder Disziplin, die mit Musik zu tun hat – sind Gehör und Rhythmusgefühl sehr wichtig, die durch bestimmte Übungen entwickelt werden können.
Der Workshop besteht aus 3 Teilen:
⭕️Grundkenntnisse von Beatmatching
⭕️Arbeit mit dem Mischpult, Frequenzen und Lautstärke
⭕️Einführung Struktur eines Tracks, Mischtechniken

Turntablista DJ school is about learning the basics of DJing using records. We practice on vinyl, as there are no displays or other visual parameters on turntables, which allows us to focus better on our ears than on our eyesight. 🙈 However, the second part of the course is conducted using digital equipment to better prepare you for real life. How long does one DJ course at Turntablista last?
Ideally, one course lasts 4 weeks, but a comfortable schedule is a priority. This means that one course could be accomplished within 5-6 weeks. It consists of 8 lessons, 90 min each.
How many people can participate in a group course?
Turntablista Group Course is designed for 2 persons. Better come with your best friend ;)
When can I start my education at Turntablista?
You can start your studies anytime. It depends on your schedule and our workflow. Turntablista makes the education plan with its students together.
What is the difference between Beginner and Advanced Course?
The main difference is the education focus: for Beginners - it is more about working on beatmatching and level-balancing techniques; for Advanced - it is about working with music compilation and preparing a promo mixtape
Turntablista is a winner of Departure Challendge in term of Vienna Biennale 2019. Our school is presented at MAK Vienna from May 28 2019, after that we’re going to have a practical presentation at The ‘’Ottakringer Brauerei’’ from September 2019.
We are open for educational colaborations with various institutions. Turntablista gives group theoretical workshops, lections about the history of DJing, and individual practical lesssons.
