The Courtyard of Curiosities

The Courtyard of Curiosities An exciting kid on the venue hub block. Returning to Adelaide Fringe in 2025 for our third year - with 60 shows! We are at 82 Kintore Avenue, Adelaide SA 5000.

You can find us at the Migration Museum on Kintore Avenue and the State Library of South Australia on North Terrace. Migration Museum is a venue on Kintore Avenue with two theatre spaces to come see shows during the Adelaide Fringe 2023 - Yurt and Chapel. There is a nice courtyard which will include a food and beverage offering and seating outside for before and after shows. The Yurt is a hand-bui

lt traditional wood and canvas circular structure with a great feel and lovely atmosphere. It is a sixty seat venue that can be set 'in the round' or in 'theatre-style row seating'. The Chapel is a bluestone building - it is a sixty seat venue with theatre-style row seating. This is the first time The Yurt and The Chapel have been Adelaide Fringe venues at the Migration Museum. We are very excited about being a new little hub in the city’s East End for intimate theatre, clowning, comedy, and music. The Chapel & Yurt is brought to you by Nick Phillips & Britt Plummer

TOPH ENANY (USA)

HALF DAY COURSE_PLAY & RELATIONSHIP

Play & Relationship We will use play and openness to help you find what’s funny, create stronger relationships (to objects, audience, other performers), and feel free to do (almost) anything on stage. This work leads to better listening, shockingly funny and beautiful moments while improvising, and better construction when creating a show.

Date: Thursday March 6 12 - 5pm

Venue: State Library of SA, Hetzel Lecture Theatre

Cost: $100

THREE DAY COURSE_CLOWNPOINTS: USING CLOWN & VIEWPOINTS TECHNIQUE TOGETHER

Viewpoints is a system for exploring theatre ideas that we don’t always stop to consider clearly. For me, clown boils down to play and relationship. You can be funny, tragic, mysterious, or magical, but you need play and relationship. This workshop examines how these two techniques can work together.

Dates:
Wednesday 12 March 12 - 5
Thursday 13 March 12 - 5
Friday 14 March 12 - 5

Venue: State Library of SA, Hetzel Lecture Theatre

Cost: $300 ($240 Early Bird)

Multi-award-winning musical comedian and professional overthinker Selena Mersey is in her first long-term relationship.

Unfortunately, she’s also been reading about Freud. Can Selena’s straight-passing romance survive the weight of anxiety, progressive politics, and an impactful psychology education?

Presenting Madonna/Whore: a filthy, Freudian, feminist odyssey into the desire to be both and neither amother and a slut.

As night falls on the town of Millers Hollow, there’s trouble afoot and werewolves are stalking the innocent villagers.

As each morning breaks, the death toll rises and it’s up to the villagers to try and find the werewolves lurking in plain sight among them.

In this immersive game of accusation, deceit and fun, the audience are each given a card with their role and pitted against each other as they try to work together to w**d out the werewolves and avoid hanging their own.

Expert game master, Nicholas Giles Phillips creates a dramatic sense of unease as he leads players through this cat and mouse game, calmly informing players of the latest victim of the werewolves’ wrath.

The boys are back in town.

After winning a ‘Best Comedy’ award at Adelaide Fringe 2024, the UK’s most bang average blokes - Barry, Brian & Bean - are back with a new show tackling everything from patriotism to bo**rs for Beckham.
Blending raucous sketches with verbatim moments, this show explores the intricacies of identity, patriotism and what it means to be ‘English’, all with a side of three small sausages.

new heights.” London Pub Theatres

Do you like Stranger Things and dumb things? Well, this is a show made for you.
Strange Thing is one hour of the dumbest things a clown can do in the universe of Stranger Things.

Expect the unexpected. It's wild, it's wordless (well, almost), and it makes absolutely no sense—and that's the whole point. Just pure, unadulterated stupidity for a solid hour.

See you in the upside down!

This Australian Premier brought to you by Polish clown Piotr Sikora. You may have seen him before as thehot-headed hooligan Furiozo.

PICK OF THE WEEK - ADELAIDE FRINGE 2024
Welcome to The Ceremony. Thank you. You’re welcome.

An experimental, interactive ritual – part sermon, part group therapy, part comedy show. Not a cult.

Crafted afresh from audience responses, the show changes every time it’s performed. We rummagethrough our collective pasts/presents/futures/other to see what kind of ceremony emerges. Or is that
the ceremony? Does this mean anything? What does meaning mean? Hmm.

Take a seat. Contemplate your life. Contemplate my life. Join me. And let The Ceremony begin…

Bennett Cooper Sullivan, gentleman adventurer and rakish raconteur, returns with another thrilling tale of derring-do (and don'ts), cheating death countless times, and damn near losing a cufflink in the process.

Hearts will flutter. Monocles will plummet. Corsets may become strained. Combining the finest elements of a Sherlock Holmes novel, an Oscar Wilde soirée, and the best night between the sheets you’ve ever had, 'The Cadaver Palaver' is a ripping yarn, sumptuously told by a master storyteller.

"the closest experience I’ve had to watching a (Victorian period) action blockbuster movie... the writing flows with wit and imagery.” The Plus Ones
