Introducing Jade and Daniel.
Jade and Daniel made their way to Adelaide to get married. It was important to me that they felt comfortable, laughed a lot, and just had the best day ever with their kids and closest family members.
I think we nailed the brief. Check out these kind words:
"We couldnβt have asked for a better celebrant.
Matthew was incredible from start to finish, through ceremony planning all the way to our ceremony we felt supported and at ease.
He knew we were both very nervous about the day and checked in throughout our entire ceremony and photos to make sure we were comfortable. I couldnβt recommend him enough!"

Is a pumping dancefloor important to you?
The number 1 tip for having a pumping dancefloor is...
For you, the newlywed to be on it!
Your guests will naturally want to gravitate towards you, so if you're on the dancefloor, your people will also be!
Here's a few other tips to help curate a banging party:
π Don't rush your dancefloor. Let your guests chat, eat, and drink, and then they'll be ready.
π Guests can't dance for 3 - 4 hours. 2 hours is a great amount of time. You can just play bangers and keep the energy high.
π Hire a DJ who can read a crowd
π Ensure the dancefloor is dark. Check with your venue or lighting provider that they have lights that dim.
π Ensure your dancefloor is appropriately sized for your guest list. A dancefloor that is massive with a small guest list will make people feel exposed.
π Don't be afraid to hire a live sax player, hand out light up LED sticks, or wear something a little more comfortable.
It's your party, do what you want!

Your ceremony is 100% about you!
I love to tell your story in a unique way to each couple. Nathan and Kirsty's story was just so sweet, so I placed extra emphasis on sharing their favourite things as a couple, what they love about each other and what they're looking forward to in the future.
I'll ask that you complete my questionnaires separately, and I'll then mesh them together to create a modern, warm, light, loving, and authentic ceremony to you as a couple.
Do you want a celebrant that is genuinely excited about your wedding as you are? Reach out via the link in my bio, and I'd love to chat more.

What's up tiger king we should grab a beer sometime?
When I first met with Ayla and Clinton, they shared the story of this interaction, along with mentioning that some of their favourite moments were sharing a nice beer together. It sounded like the perfect place to begin their story.
My aim is always to start your ceremony with something light, fun, and completely unique to you. Ayla and Clinton have a great sense of humour and wanted a ceremony that wasn't your typical wedding.
I snuck a couple of @bigshedbeer Hazy Pale can's behind the arbour and had a little fun with the newlyweds.
Are you looking for a celebrant who backs up the phrase "no boring ceremonies" with unique and memorable ways to tell your story.

There's a lot to love about the start of Andrew and Sheridan's ceremony.
They chose a secret reveal with Andrew's brother/ best man giving him the tap to turn around, and the response just melts my heart.
I'm conscious to hang off to the side and let you two greet each other, I'll then pop in to position you, fluff the dress* if that's your thing, chat with your VIP'S, then greet you, ensure you've said hello to each other and you're not 3 metres away apart.
This is a special moment. I intentionally face away from the guests to ensure you are comfortable, pumped, and ready to go.
I'll then shuffle off to the side and get this party started!
Sheridan and Andrew's ceremony was just the right amount of fun, quirky, sweet, engaging, and love that every ceremony should be. Also, their dogs were the surprise ring bearers!

Here's your sign to throw a little game into your ceremony to lighten the mood and get that competitive energy flowing.
Jas and Scott couldn't decide who should read their vows first. Cue rock, paper, scissors, and a little bit of chaos.
Your ceremony isn't designed to be a production with everything ridged or forced.
I intentionally leave space for intimate unplanned moments that you and your guests can enjoy. I'll announce your rock, paper, scissors, then let you have some fun with your lover.
I'll never be behind you because who needs a celebrant in this photo?
If this sounds like the type of celebration you're after for your wedding, let's chat about how I can genuinely bring some fun to your ceremony.
Weddings are a team sport, and your vendors are your support crew. I love working with Tony & Tereza from @wilsonandlewis . They're so passionate about what they do, creative and invested in your day.
Here are some of the real life behind the scenes points and conversations we had to ensure Daniel and Chelsea's wedding ran smoothly, and everyone was able to do their job with no surprises.
π No formal wedding party entrances
πPositioning for Daniel + Chelsea and wedding party
πChels to enter with Mum Pam around the bridge in the ceremony space
πSurprise reveal of Mum's as witnesses shortly after the ceremony has begun
πPaddle game to decide who read their vows first, including some movement around the ceremony space
πKey ceremony moments, including I would stand by Dan and Chelsea's side for vows, invite the ring bearer into the middle facing guests, move for the ring exchange, and announce the kiss from the side
πFollowing certificate signing, Daniel and Chelsea wanted a few moments outside of the ceremony space with photos only
πPronounce a couple down the aisle
πAnnounce back into ceremony space
πAssisted with moving guests' location to front of castle for group and family photos
πTagged along for golden hour photoshoot and discussed room shots along with newlyweds room reveal before guests entered
π Confirmed reception entrance aisle to be used
π Running order of entrance (family, wedding party then newlyweds followed by cake cut, toast and newlyweds speech)
πFurther speeches, including Daniels brother, gave an unexpected but planned speech with beautiful reactions
π Positioning of seats for newlyweds table photo game, including where was best for guests to move to and for photos
π Private surprise reveal of Mum's and newlwedβs dance
π Chatted about first dance and ensuring full access for video as the couple wanted extended first dance video
π Daniels Mum is wearing her party boots for the Nutbush
π
Seriously, have you thought about a sparkler ENTRANCE to your reception rather than an exit?
Guests are less hammered, and the moment creates a unique energy to officially begin your reception.
Non daylight savings weddings work a little better for timing with the sun setting a little earlier but worth trying at any time of the year.
Save this post for your reception.

Did you notice the subtle Darkness "I believe in a thing called love" references in Jas and Scottβs ring promises?
This classic song was to be our newlyweds final song of the night, and we opened the ceremony with a toast to some lyrics of said song, so it was natural to tie all of these elements into their custom ring exchange.
The aim is always something sweet mixed with a little giggle but never too serious.
I'll always announce your first kiss way off to the side so your photographer can snap those stunning first kiss smoochies.
How did you meet your partner?
Dating apps are all the rage these days, and it was no exception for Jas and Scott who met through Bumble.Β
Bumble was the perfect spot to start our love story, and nothing excites me more than some cheesy questions, early message exchanges, or the information that potentially a friend or family member crafted a dating profile.Β
During our planning, we chatted about involving Scott's sister Tess in their ceremony but didn't want to go down the very typical reading or similar.Β
The seed was planted, and the opportunity arose to involve Tess in a fun and playful manner.
I aim toΒ incorporate moments into your ceremony that are unstructured, fun, and bound to make memories for you and your guests.

JAS + SCOTT | HAZELMERE HOMESTEAD
Saturday was 100% an absolute banger! We began their ceremony with a champagne toast to the Darkness song "I believe in a thing called love", this was their final song of the night.
Everything in between was just magic from Scotts sister Tess sharing how she wrote his bumble profile, an engagement on love island watching the UFC, to a huge amount of couple and guest interaction and the cherry on top Scotts daughter sharing a hilarious speech and announcing them down the aisle.
I got to know Scott and Jas really well, and it was amazing to see it all come together for an epic party.
Thanks for having me along as your celebrant and MC.

Jess and Jack got engaged in the sweetest way.
A homemade card and a few laughs were a perfect match. As is always the case, engagements never quite go to plan, and this is where the gold lies for some storytelling mixed with a little crowd engagement.
Congratulations, Jess and Jack.
Jess and Jack met at the star bar in Traralgon in country Victoria, fresh off scoring a century in local cricket (or did he?), Jack was full of confidence and ready to show off his incredible dance moves!
Jack and Jack first met somewhere unusual for modern times, a bar! I generally like to begin your storytelling from the beginning. It's a great way to relax you, interact with your guests, and just set a fun tone for your wedding.

Here's the key points that are important to me about your ceremony:
π Must be custom and unique to you
π Must be energetic and fun
π You must feel comfortable and be supported
π I'll move out of the way and not be in any of your critical moments or shots
π I'll talk to you and your guests throughout your ceremony
π Your ceremony is a celebration, not a performance
π You must have fun
Congratulations, Sheridan and Andrew, you absolute legends on your stunning @gomersalweddingsfunctions party!
What to choose for your last song of the night?
This is how to finish your night with an absolute BANG!
It's important firstly that your MC or DJ invites all of your guests onto the dancefloor for one final song. You can build it up a little, form a big circle around the dancefloor, or just drop it and let the guests do their work.
Either pre choose a song, provide a few potential options, or trust your DJ to pick the right tune.
Great last songs include:
π Love story
π Mr. Brightside
π (I've had) The time of my life
π Sandstorm
π A sky full of stars
π Untouched
It's all about the build up to your last song, building the right combination and hype for the epic last song.

Instead of an awkward interaction or another joke about forgetting the rings, have you considered including your grandpa, both mums, nonna, siblings, or someone so special to you to present the rings and creating a beautifully candid moment.
Grandpa Robert was extremely nervous, emotional, proud, and excited to be asked to be the ringbearer.
I spoke with Robert pre ceremony and mentioned I would love for him to have a conversation with Bree and Brody when he delivered the rings, then asked if I could ask him a question. He loved the idea.
The response speaks for itself, "one of the proudest moments of my life," followed by talking about the family and the couple.
Shake up your ceremony, and let's make every moment matter!

Fresh off Taylor Swift winning a Super Bowl, here's a reminder to finish your reception off with an absolute BANGER!
Here's some popular last song options:
πLove Story
πMr Brightside by The Killers
π(I've had) The time of my life - from "dirty dancing" soundtrack
πSandstorm by Darude
πA sky full of stars by Coldplay
Or whatever is going to leave your guests (and you) thinking they've had the best night of their lives.
I always recommend announcing a last song, inviting all guests onto the dancefloor, pump them up, and then, depending on the crowd, use this cool party trick where your guests rush you on a big drop
Also, check out Jessie from @the_film_room and Luke from @lukejohnphotography getting all those good shots in the middle! Both huge Taylor fans also π
