I am incredibly proud of these two young women. On their student-free day, they chose to spend their time helping out at the coffee shop. Not only did they quickly learn how to make coffees, but they also excelled during the busy teacher rush.

One of the primary reasons for starting this coffee shop was to create opportunities for individuals in our community to learn valuable skills that can help them advance their knowledge and improve their employment prospects.

We are also proud to announce our partnership with Salisbury East High School, offering work experience to their barista students through the Alt Hub (formerly SEAL) program, which provides alternative learning pathways for highly disengaged students.

We had Finn, the boy behind our coffee blend in the shop today.
Finn has been making coffee since he was 4 years old (6 years). When we tried all of the Mila Coffee Co blends we couldn’t go past the the Finn blend, not only because it was delicious but because this little fella and I go way back about 7 years when I met him when I was a swimming supervisor!

This breaks my heart, I love doing flowers but with the cost of supplies and the uncertainty of them selling it’s not the right time for us to continue. We have some big and exciting opportunities in 2024 and we are hoping we can bring them back in the near future.
