Just over 5 years ago, I sent through an application to have a lemonade stand with no plan or no idea. To my utter shock and horror, market extraordinaire, Jenn, replied and we were in for our first-ever market that was only 7 days away!!! I had to pull a complete business out of thin air (absolutely everything) because my silly little application got accepted!
It blows my mind that I’ve been doing this for 5 years (it really does) and I still love doing it! I still get nervous as I pull up to each event. Where’s my spot? How many people are going to be here? Do I know some of the vendors? How will the day pan out? Is the sun staying or going? Do I smell? I did shower, right?!?! (Jokes) Once the nerves settle, the best part of doing this is that I get to serve all of you absolutely wonderful legends. I am always and forever, truly grateful and humbled for your support.
So so many faces and so many of your faces have become regulars. We have a mini chat/catchup, albeit about 39 seconds, these brief exchanges really put a smile on my dial.
I also get to ‘work’ alongside some bloody damn cool vendors from Adelaide. I have proudly watched many vendors continue to grow from marquees, to food trucks, to festivals and to bricks and mortar…. And rightly so, Adelaide has some of the best foods, drinks, artists, designers, makers, businesses, etc, in the state, country, world… and probably even the universe!
I also get to ‘work’ in some really cool spaces in lil ol’ Adelaide and today was no exception. A perfect day, by the beach for . The sun was shining, the summer warmth, a cool sea breeze and the cheery on top… all of you legends!
I’m not sure what brought on this reflection, but it’s a reminder for me to be thankful that I get to do this for ‘work’ and that I am forever grateful for your support. Seriously, thank you to each and everyone of you!!!
(Second pic is the first ever day for Life Lemonade).
(I didn’t realise I can only tag 20…. There are so so so many more I wish I could add!!! )
