Have a very Merry Xmas and wonderful start to the New Year everyone! I am closing up now until the 6th of January 2025. I can't wait to see what goodies next year has in store for us all.

OMG! I had so much fun working with Elle on her custom made Melbourne Cup dress. As an owner of "The Gap" she was super stoked her horse was in the cup.

So we tried to match the colour and Elle got crafty with her Cricut machine to create the lettering along the bows and tails. It turned out stunning! Elle was such a pleasure to work with and I look forward to more creative pieces in the future with her. 🐎

They just don't make them like they used to.

My first batch of proper proffessionaly made labels!!!! So exciting! Can't wait to start sewing them into some custom made items!

It isn't just wedding gowns and pretty dresses I make and alter here. I also alter suits to fit your groom and groomsmen perfectly.

Including:
pant hems
shortening jacket sleeves
shortening jacket hems
taking in/letting out jackets, pants and vests

This suit needed pants hemmed, jacket sleeve shortened, and extra added into the vest.

Oh my goodness!!! How adorable are these little flowergirls! Lovingly altered here at The Sewing Bird. Just a bit of taking in and shortening the hems.

They both were very good at standing still for the fittings in between happily playing on the trampoline and with my doggy.

Such sweet flowergirl dresses.

Trap bags! For trapping possums and other pests. Just whipped up a few for the South Australian Arid Lands Landscape Board. Hopefully they go to good use trapping and relocating animals.

Made this fun and bright bag for a customer recently. Perfect bag for at the pool. With internal pockets for a waterbottle and purse and a loop for hanging keys.

Won't loose this one in the crowd.

I'm so happy with how this pale pink linen oufit turned out. Perfect Mother-of-the-bride/groom outfit for a hot summer day. Can't wait until the next outfit!

Introducing my assistant Bacardi.

She has almost 15 years experience greeting customers, showing them through to the studio and then back to the gate.

She is a master at sniffing and licking, keeps children entertained and in her old age now often sleeps through customers coming and going.

If you'd like to give her a pat then please make an appointment for some alterations/dressmaking and the pats come complimentary.

Just doing my little bit to help the environment. 🌏

Brand new garment bags just arrived and they are fully biodegradable. ♻️

Perfect for keeping your custom veil protected withoit adding anymore microplastics into the oceans. 🌊

Plus I'm switching from nasty plastic combs that break to metal combs that not only look nicer, but are better for the environment too.

Maybe looking for a natural tulle might be my next project? 🤔
