Reece and Natasha did just that at the idyllic Marybank Estate and I was lucky enough to create and conduct their wedding ceremony for them.

We had bagpipes, laughs, tears and lots of champagne and it was bloody incredible, to be honest.

Friends of 4 other couples I've married over the years, Connie and Joe stand up for each other and what they believe in and, in general, are just a bloody pleasure to be around. So I felt honoured when they booked me to conduct their wedding ceremony over a year ago.

Little did I realise at the time that:
1) they would shortly welcome their beautiful boy, Patrick, to their family,
2) Joe in his capacity as a podiatrist would cure my excruciating plantar fasciitis, and
3) they would also be the 1000th couple who I've ever married.

An incredibly special and happy day for everyone connected to them for sure. And I heard that their reception was pretty wild too.

Early in the new year can be a great time to get some admin/organisation tasks crossed off your list.

Many of my couples take a few hours during the Summer to sort out their name stage after getting married.

I'm not sure if you know, but in my spare time (between podcasting, promoting wedding vendors, running a directory and developing an app) I'm also a marriage celebrant. 😄

I'm so incredibly proud of the squad who cleaned up at the SA awards last night. 💪

But I'm also pretty thrilled to have had my celebrant services recognised with a 99.97% rating from my incredible couples which earned me the runner up honour. 🥈

When winter comes around, I've found that it's a great opportunity to count my blessings and plan for the next season, so I have many more in the future.

Georgie and Liam dance to the beat of their own drum.
They are expressive, enthusiastic and smart people.
