Changes coming to the Marriage Act.

The Marriage Act will soon be changed to permit remote witnessing of Notices of Intended Marriage . Another change is it will be mandatory for celebrants to meet with each party separately before the marriage to ensure voluntary and informed consent.

Rain held off for beautiful hills wedding in a pear orchard Paracomb Premium Perry. Kangaroos even appeared. Live music also made this occasion more complete as did the couples laughter.

Memorial service for Inawinytji Williamson last Saturday was a bitter sweet event. Family and friends gathered to pay their respects. Some people had come a long way such was the respect Ina had in the many community spheres in which she worked. I’m accord with Inawinytji’s wishes her family has requested her name and image be used to keep her “usefulness “ alive.

I was fortunate enough to perform a short marriage ceremony that was one of my most meaningful .A mixture of sadness and happiness but demonstrating the meaning of marriage and support in a pure sense. The births, deaths and marriages staff helped to facilitate this by approving a shortening of the notice in a speedy, kind manner. Very grateful for the human kindness and efficiency of this Department to meet a special request.

Really Happy beach side wedding performed at sunset .. today ….we are so lucky with our coastlines .. this is Aldinga… a beautiful smallish wedding with acoustic singer… Bride stunning in all lace knee length dress with trendy runners , great look!! I don’t take pics of the people as it feels like an intrusion but wish I’d photographed this couples amazing smiles ..
