So this popped up in our memories today, gosh, how hard was this period of time - for EVERYONE!
We fought so hard to run markets when we could back then, even taking on the government and getting our markets reclassified as ‘retail’ instead of ‘events’ - meaning whenever retail opened, so could we!
I remember running some markets on 3 days notice, when lockdowns were lifted.
Good times! (said no one ever!!!!)
This particular post was referencing a market in Wodonga, and we are back there again next Sunday (25th August)
Small businesses are doing it tough again at the moment, but for different reasons.
Please head down to Junction Square next Sunday, and show some love to our stall holders - hold tight, and over the next week I’ll share some of the businesses that will be there ❤️

On behalf of myself, and my ever growing stall holder family, thank you a million times over to everyone on the Victorian side of the river that came out to support them today.
You guys absolutely blew my socks off.
It’s been a hell of a week to get to here, but I’m the most stubborn and pig headed person I know - and there was no bloody way our event was going down without a fight!
I do have to say a big thank you to our local members offices who took our frantic calls, and offered guidance and advice as we tried to determine who could and couldn’t attend after the 11th hour lockdown announcement!
And a personal thank you to my stall holder fam, for holding tight while I got the answers for them 😘
This girl is off to put her feet up and partake in a beverage or two.
Market season is back, and my heart is so full ❤️

So it's this big boof heads birthday today!
For those that come into the shop - this is the guy that greets you with the happiest of 'How yas going' and then goes on to sprout about all of our amazing in store businesses.
If you've come to our markets recently, you'll have seen him sitting proudly behind the 11 year old legend that is Noah, from NJ Designs.
Many don't know his story though, so I thought i'd tell you a little about him!
Brett and I divorced more than 10 years ago, but we are still the best of mates to this day! We don't always see eye to eye, but raising Noah has always been our number one focus!
A little over 18 months ago, Brett went downhill very quickly, and what we thought at the time was a stroke, turned out to be his brain tumour that he had as a 6 year old, deciding some 35+ years later, to make another appearance.
Nearly 2 weeks in Melbourne, a surgery that left him needing to learn to walk and talk again, a little over a month in hospital, outpatient hospital programs for another 9 months + 6 monthly checkups in amongst all that, and he continues to kick goals - including volunteering in our shop on almost a daily basis!
If you know Brett, you know that he is one of the most social guys, and being confined to 4 walls is just not an option for him! So he spends his time with us in the shop, talking to everyone that comes in, and has quite a regular following of people popping in to see him! I've also received many messages from people about how nice it is to walk into a store and be greeted with a smiling face!
He's become a bloody important part of our store family, and we aren't quite sure how we'd ever keep going without him now!
Happiest of Birthdays Brett! Enjoy your day off with Noah today!
