Today I had the honour of singing at two funerals, and officiate for one. Sometimes a range of skills are needed in order to provide families a service and celebration that they can feel assured knowing reflects the love and sentiment they seek. I don’t often have two funerals in a day, but life happens in unexpected ways, and I’m sitting back now hoping the future in months ahead will be less grey for the families involved

I haven’t been on insta for a while but that’s not to say I haven’t been busy. With funeral services being prepared (everything from officiating to singing), I’m getting ready to for another theatrical journey, with some of the biggest names in theatre and music for our region. Im walking among giants again, and so happy to be a part of it

There’s good news and bad news for weddings. The GOOD NEWS is that, right now, celebrants can continue to witness the signing of the Notice of Intended Marrihe remotely. For all my couples from Sydney, Darwin, Melbourne and beyond, we can FaceTime to witness your signing. And now, the changes: I now have to meet with each party separately and in person, to ensure all of you understand “real consent” - that is, to make sure you are not being bribed or coerced into marriage, and that you are consenting to everything regarding and surrounding your wedding ceremony. It’s a big ask, I know, and celebrants are still trying to wrap their heads around it

As a complete aside, I’ve been offered a part in a show I never dreamed I would be a part of, with a company I didn’t think I was good enough to audition for! Thank you This year has been a year where I’ve taken a lot of personal risks to put myself out of my comfort zone! A singing coach who is simply the best coach for me, and a circle of performers who are so encouraging, I’m just so grateful to all of them

Courtney and Brent’s wedding was beautifully captured by and showed their story together as authentically as the relationship itself. A little windy, I resorted to a handheld mic to stop the wind noise from a lapel mic. Sound is so important in a wedding ceremony. It was an honour and a privilege to be a part of Vinh and Put’s wedding yesterday. I worked with Vinh’s brother to organise an interpretation of the wedding ceremony in to Vietnamese, to ensure the couple understood the legally binding nature of their marriage. And what’s brilliant place to hold the service than at , which has an array of room settings for any guest size!

Piano Bar Session #1 kicked off. I sang among giants! were simply incredible. This was the first time for me singing outside of a show. I was so nervous! And I was out of my comfort zone! I’ve been recognised as the best celebrant in the region by this company. I don’t pay for awards, and most bridal companies expect you to pay hundreds in order for you to receive recognition as a celebrant. That is why I look at this announcement with a bit more assurance. This group analyse social media interaction, response times and reviews. So it’s great to see hard work pays off!

Bright Chalet was the most appropriate location for Ben and Crystal’s magical day. They spent many a childhood memory here. Friends and family came from far and wide to be there to celebrate and support look at these two. I’m sorry I don’t have a beautiful photo of Crystal - I was too focused on the ceremony!
