Meals on Wheels Armidale and Uralla

Meals on Wheels service to Armidale and Uralla. The Armidale/Uralla Meals on Wheels (AUMOW) service was established 1966. We provide 'More Than Just a Meal'.

It was previously located at the Armidale Hospital, from which meals were integrated back into the community for many years. Click on the article at right to read the full version in the Armidale Express. Since then the organisation has grown substantially and relocated to the Armidale Showgrounds in 2014 where a production kitchen was established. The organisation is overseen by a Management Comm

ittee, comprised of up to 12 members of the community. A number of permanent and casual staff are employed with Armidale/Uralla Meals on Wheels, including the Manager, Administrative Support Officers and the Kitchen Team. The organisation also employs over 200 volunteers who play a vital role in the meal delivery.

Volunteering for Armidale Uralla Meals on Wheels is easy and rewarding - you can give as much or as little of your time as you choose.
Our volunteer drivers deliver our freshly prepared food items across Armidale and Uralla every weekday. Our clients rely on our service to access nutritious meals as well as having a friendly face checking in each day.
If you have one hour a week or one hour a month – we have a few gaps on our Armidale roster, whether it’s a regular spot of an ‘emergency driver’ is up to you.

Xmas Gift bags for all our clients - donated items we get the privilege of distributing via our Volunteer elves - Staff at Armidale Regional Council raise money to buy enough gifts for everyone (this year 250!) then individually wrap each gift (I won't ruin the surprise); Armidale Lions always donate Christmas Cakes; Reckitt gifted all MOW customers Pine-O-Clean Wipes and Glen 20 to help at home;
The Clients are delighted to receive this package - thank you again to ARC staff for raising the funds for these gifts and for the special team of ARC elves (yes, you Kirra & Co.) who would have taken ages to organise and wrap all these gifts - Thank You all and Merry Christmas.
