Mun Kiribath one of the renowned traditional dishes in Sri Lanka made from rice green gram and coconut milk. Lunumiris made from onion chilli and Maldives fish flakes is a common side dish along with mun kiribath. Commonly served for breakfast and used as a dish to celebrate auspicious time or celebration. Also used as an offering for Lord Buddha as a blessing. It is believed Sujatha offered kiribath to Lord Buddha whilst mediating under the bodhi tree.
