A Pawsitively Perfect Wedding Inclusion-Your Pup!

Have you considered including your furry friend in your ceremony? Dogs bring a special kind of love and joy that only they can provide. Here’s why they’re a fantastic addition to your big day:

Unconditional Love: For many of my couples, their dog is literally a part of their family and they have been by their sides through thick and thin. So it makes total sense to include them in their ceremony - and it also adds a touch of loyalty and unconditional love that everyone will feel.

Unique Memories: Imagine walking down the aisle with your best friend by your side or having them as your ring bearer! These moments create unforgettable memories for you and your guests- and look fab in your photos!

Instant Happiness: Let’s be honest, dogs have a way of bringing smiles to everyone’s faces. Their presence can lighten the mood and add an extra layer of joy to your celebration.

Thanks to Alex and Monty for such a lovely review. Marrying them at the stunning was a dream and it’s not often that you will have kangaroos in the next paddock watching on! It was such a relaxed, fun, and heartfelt celebration, just like Alex and Monty themselves!

Wedding Tips: Consider what will you do with your bouquet during the ceremony.

If you are planning on holding a bouquet on your wedding day, it’s a good idea to have a think about what you want to do with it during the ceremony.

Many of my brides hold their bouquets for the majority of their ceremony, but need to pass it on when it comes time for reading their vows or exchanging rings.

There are no hard and fast rules about what you need to do with your bouquet during this time, but it’s a great idea to think about this ahead of your ceremony.

If you are having a wedding party, you can always hand it over to one of them- keeping in mind that in some cases they will then be holding two bouquets.

Another great, and very sweet option, is to hand your bouquet to your mum or another family member sitting in the front row. This is a great way to keep them involved in the ceremony and makes for a great photo - like this one by at Rachel and James’ wedding.

Whatever you choose to do, remember to grab your bouquet back at the end of the ceremony, before you walk back down that aisle, so it’s in all your photos afterwards!

Small, intimate weddings hold a special kind of magic.

They’re not about the size of the guest list, but the depth of the connections shared. There is just something about being surrounded by those who truly matter, celebrating love in its purest form.

💙 ALBERT + PETER 17.10.23 💙

These two scientists first met at the impressively named Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness when they were both studying to complete their PhDs. Neither was looking for love however as they found themselves at the same social events again and again, they formed a solid friendship.

So, it was totally natural that when Albert’s roommate moved back to the US, and he was looking for a new place to live, Peter’s empty room made sense.

When Albert first moved in, they were just two friends navigating the ups and downs of sharing a space, and trying not to drive each other up the wall.

They soon found comfort in each other’s presence. They shared secrets, dreams, and probably a bit too much gossip. And once they finally acknowledged their feelings for each other, they haven’t looked back!

Congratulations to these two gorgeous humans, who I had the privilege of marrying back in November at the very stunning Riverstone Estate.

Say “We Do!” to Crowd Vows!

Want to flip the script on a ‘traditional’ wedding ceremony? Why not invite your guests to become your ultimate hype team with the inclusion of Crowd Vows.

Crowd Vows are questions asked of your guests, by your celebrant, during your ceremony. It is the opportunity to get your guests involved and cheekily set your expectations for how you want them to behave.

So, what do you want your guests to pledge?
* Are they ready to back you up in this wild love ride?
* Can they promise to party like there’s no tomorrow?
* Will they make your wedding THE night of all nights in celebration of your love?

Whether it’s heartfelt declarations or cheeky shenanigans, Crowd Vows are a great way to make your ceremony uniquely you.

Ready to make some noise? With limited 2024 availability, get in touch via to see if I’m the celebrant for you.

Why I choose to stand on the sidelines during your ceremony.

At the heart of it all, your wedding is YOUR love story. It’s all about you and your partner - I’m just there to sprinkle some legal magic and turn your celebration into an official “we did it” bash! And no-one needs a third wheel (aka me) hogging the spotlight in your precious photos!

By taking a step to the side, my goal is to let you and your partner soak in every moment together. And guess what? There are some awesome perks that come with my strategic sideline position:
- When I do this, most of my couples opt to stand side by side, holding hands and taking in the sea of smiling faces. It’s a beautiful way to bask in the love of all your favourite people.
- By standing side by side, you have a hand free to hold onto your bouquet (if you have one) for the majority of your ceremony. This not only showcases your fabulous florals (because, let’s be honest, flowers aren’t cheap!), but it also adds a touch of elegance to your photos.
- Later on, when it’s time for vows and ring exchange, facing each other creates picture-perfect moments from different angles – which is a bonus in your wedding album.

I’ll make a cameo between you two for the ring exchange and “I Do” moment, then gracefully step back, giving you centre stage for that unforgettable first kiss.

Do you want to know a secret?

You don’t have to ‘endure’ your ceremony, just to get to the ‘fun’ part of the day.

Your ceremony should set the tone for your celebration - right from the very start.

I don’t recall exactly what I was saying here, but at least Jane and Andrew thought I was being funny too!

If you are looking for a celebrant who will fill your ceremony with joy, warmth and laughter, while making it all about you, please get in touch.

“Pan was absolutely brilliant - she made my wife and I feel super relaxed in the lead up to the wedding, explaining what would happen, what we needed to do, and then on the day itself, she couldn't have been more helpful or professional.

I'm not planning on getting married again, but if I did, I'd use Pan without hesitation”

Thanks to Jane and Andrew for these kind words – they were married in a beautiful ceremony at Gardens’ House in the Royal Botanic Gardens and their relaxed attitude meant that a little rain didn’t impact their celebration.

“We had a fantastic experience with Pan. We felt throughout she was totally engaged with the tone we wanted for our ceremony. Her style was perfect for us, knitting our story together into the perfect story and vibe for the day. She really leant into our hobbies and interests, making small references and surprising us with her knowledge throughout. Not only were we blown away, but also our guests were very complementary of her style and ability to engage the audience. On the day, as a groom I was completely at ease and was left with very little to worry about.

Not only was Pan a great story teller, but also incredibly organised and charismatic. We are so grateful that Pan was our celebrant on the day, and delighted with the overall experience.”

Thanks to Rachel and James for choosing me as their celebrant. Their wedding was beautiful, intimate and considered. It was an absolute joy to be a part of it!

I’m proud to have joined the family and you can now find me in their directory.

For me, I have been a long-time admirer of Theodore and everything they stand for. They are a wedding guide and magazine showcasing only the best inclusive wedding vendors from across the globe and a space where ALL couples can come and plan their wedding and feel wholly accepted with who they are.

It’s crazy that in 2023, some couples are still not sure if their love will be welcomed by wedding vendors, and by joining the Theodore family, I want to shout it loud from the rooftops – all love is welcome here ❤️💙💜💛💚🖤🧡

Objecting to objections. You know the scene, it’s a classic Hollywood wedding moment. The critical moment where the question is asked “Does anyone object? Speak now or forever hold your peace”.
Super cringey and high stress, all at once.

So, do you need to ask this question in your ceremony?
Happily, the answer is HELL NO!

A quick recap of what you MUST include in your ceremony:
1. Your celebrant will sprinkle some legal words into the mix.
2. You and your partner will exchange those legal vows.
3. You will need to pop your signatures on some paperwork.

Everything else? Thats totally up to you.

So, throw away the Hollywood preconceptions and let’s build a ceremony that is authentically you.

Because TBH, its only yours and your partners opinion that matter when it comes to your wedding day.

Let's talk about a common question that pops up when you're planning the big day – "What if your celebrant falls sick on your wedding day?"

Now, I've always been prepared with a backup plan, but in my two years as a celebrant, it never came into play – until recently.

Last Saturday, I got hit with a mystery daycare virus. You know how it goes; my daughter had croup, and germs can be relentless. So, Saturday morning rolls around, and I start feeling under the weather. I'm on the couch, drowning in cold and flu meds, fingers crossed for a 24-hour miracle. 🙏

But, you guessed it, it wasn't just a 24-hour thing.

By Sunday morning, I knew I was in deep trouble. I had a wedding to officiate on Monday, and there was no way I could do it in my condition. So, my mission was clear: find a replacement celebrant who would deliver the ceremony I'd lovingly crafted and make the whole process stress-free.

Cue Jane, from ! A few quick messages through my celebrant network, and Jane stepped up like the legend she is. 🙌

Jane went on to marry my couple, and I watched the magic unfold via socials and text messages.

It's been six days, and I'm still not 100%, but knowing that my couple's big day went off without a hitch puts a smile on my face.

As my bride so wisely put it, "there are some things we can't control, and this is one of them." Thankfully, having a backup plan in place made this unexpected change as smooth and stress-free as possible, given the circumstances.

Cheers to love and the power of a solid Plan B!

Should you say "I do" to a wedding ritual in your ceremony?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Heard about ‘wedding rituals’ but not really sure what they are and if you should include one in your ceremony?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In simple terms, a wedding ceremony ritual is a physical activity you choose to include in your ceremony. They are not mandatory and there are no guidelines that you have to follow.
Quiet simply, if you choose to include a ritual, and subsequently what ritual you choose to include, is completely up to you and your partner.

Scroll across for examples of common rituals and three questions to ask yourself when considering if a ritual is right for your ceremony.

Disappointment, disbelief, sadness, anxiety, frustration, anger.

These are all the feelings you would have felt if you spent hours in that little Ticketek “lounge” last week, trying to get Taylor Swift tickets - only to miss out.

So, if you are keen to avoid feeling like that when planning your wedding, here is my #1 tip:

Book.Your.Vendors.Now!

I feel like we blinked and somehow it’s July. At the moment, I am unfortunately having to respond to enquiries with the phrase “sorry, I’m not available” more than I would like.

I have just closed my books for 2023 and am fully booked for the first three months of 2024. And I’m hearing similar comments from other wedding vendors. Weddings are back in a big way and if you are set on having some amazing vendors supporting you on your big day, you need to get booking ASAP.

Slide into my DMs or enquire via my if you are keen to chat about your 2024 wedding.

💕1.07.23💕

Saturday’s wedding of a beautiful couple (who wish to remain anonymous) was a lovely reminder that to get married, you don’t need fancy outfits, a big budget, or even a crowd of on-lookers.

They simply wed in a paired back ceremony in their backyard, witnessed by their two sons and two dear friends.

When the pressure of a big wedding is removed, it means you don’t sweat the small stuff- like a child who wakes up with conjunctivitis or that it starts to drizzle just as you are about to commence the ceremony. And the reality of parent life doesn’t stress you out – so organising snacks for the kids, before we got started, was a logical priority on the pre-ceremony to-do list.

This cute little sign was a gift from their witnesses – an in joke that after 17 years together it was now their ‘last days’ as a non-married couple- and following the ceremony, they celebrated their ‘love party’ like you celebrate all big milestones in life, with cake!

Low on fanfare doesn’t make this style of wedding any less meaningful and I wish them both all the best for their future together.
