Did you know that there is a global flower shortage at the moment?

This might sound alarming but if you trust your florist and you have been selective with who you work with you will be in good hands.

Being a trade professional, I go to extreme lengths to source your florals. I am as invested in your day, as you are!

Why is there a flower shortage? This is because of the global pandemic, there is now an influx of weddings and events all happening at the same time across the world this is driving up supply and demand, impacted by unpredictable growing conditions, increased freight costs, less airfreight space, and staff shortages to pick, pack and transport the flowers.

This has increased the costs of some varieties by 30%. There is a common sentence we hear “wedding flowers are expensive”. Please know that it’s not because “it is for a wedding”, that the cost is more, it is because of the global pandemic but also there is a lot of labour behind the scenes that goes into making a wedding or event perfect.
This includes designing the floral brief, quoting, ordering to the exact number of stems for each arrangement, collecting the flowers, preparing the flowers, arranging the flowers, storing the flowers, logistics, on the day set up and bump out on the night of the wedding or event.

If you’re planning your wedding or event, please take a moment to consider the work behind the scenes that goes into creating magical moments and how long it can take to grow just one flower.
