Dashville is a secluded bushland venue located within Wonnarua land, at Lower Belford in the Hunter Valley, NSW. Over the last 17 or so years, the Johnston family, led by the rather energetic son Matt 'Magpie' and the help of many, have worked tirelessly to turn a natural bush paddock into a beautiful outdoor arena and camping area all based around his desire for live music events. g boutique music and art event The Gum Ball the largest event at the site with around 3000 campers, was first held in 2005 and is respected as one of Australia's greatest boutique music festivals. A glorious achievement to establish a grass roots festival, it goes without saying that a monumental amount of blood sweat and tears has gone into such an achievement. Based on the slow sustainable growth of these Dashville run events, various facilities have been afforded at the site, such as showers, underground power, shelters, toilets, bars, light towers, roads etc which now allow other events to happen much easier. There is also a 22ft wide x 5tf high skateboard ramp at the site. The camping scenario is all natural clean flat bush land and accessible for wheelchairs. Greetings from Montréal! For the next few days Dashville is here representing Australian music at international conference. Lots of great musical discoveries!! It’s a long way from the rustling gums of Lower Belford so we built a shrine for Winston in our hotel room and everyone is now feeling much more comfortable. Over the next few days we’ll post irregular stories of performances and shenanigans from our showcases, and I guess you can rest warm knowing you don’t need to add 6 layers of clothing just to step outside.

The Dashville bus just rolled in home from the overflowing golden nuggets of Nundle. Nundle Rocks 2025…What a lovely musical holiday that was!! So in the great style of Disco, here’s a lil photo dump. Thank you to everyone who rolled up,chipped in, played up , attended, boogied, cleaned up and so on and so forth. Couple superstars getting up to play a few songs at the Dashville Xmas Party, this Saturday. Family portraits from 11am, with live music from 2pm til about 10pm. Dream line up with. and the band that blew everyone away at Dashville Skyline, Dank Hank & The Hot Ones. Probably a bit of carry on no doubt…Going to be a great day! our last event for some time, so feel free to lob up for an hour or ten, love to have a beer with ya to celebrate the end of another big year!

This Saturday is Dashville’s big end of year soirée. 🎉🎊🥳And so here’s all the main bibs n bobs to get ya plans together. It’s pretty straightforward really. Everyone is welcome to rock up with a mob for a family photo 📸including your beloved pooch🐕, mums n dads can chill with a nice cold beverage, 🍷🍻maybe a 🧀cheese plate, 🌮pulled taco or 🍕yummy pizza, while the kids go free for a frolic🏃‍♀️. Santa will be knocking about, 🎅🏼likey a Xmas Carol or Karen could emerge. There’s an opportunity to 💰sell/buy stuff, with the car boot sale, (a feature which apparently also doubles as a great teenager activity). The middle stage will kick with live music from 2pm, 🎸starting with a showcase of some of the great talent bubbling away at the monthly open mic night, followed by the incredible then the local janitors will jump up and then to wrap it all up in a neat little party package will be this years stand out performers…Dank Hank & The Hot Ones. It’s going to be a lot of fun… and after dealing with last years scorcher, this years festivities feels just right, not too heavy, not too light… with a good outlook in sight, we’re hoping you can join us for a great night.

Well that was another successful rock n roll evening at Dashville last Friday night. Thank you so much for all those legends coming out to support the bands and the venue. It really means so much to our little holistic operation. Oh and thank you to the bands for kicking it out in swoop inn style. I missed getting some video of but all there will agree they were indeed mesmerising and well see them again up this way, no doubt. This Saturday coming we have one more special concert evening left to end the year… line up coming shortly.
