What does a wedding planner actually do? Most of the time they will come in three different types:

🍦Planners who are greatly skilled in designing aesthetic concepts including florals, tablescapes, invitation design, lighting and ceiling installations, signage and favours. Often referred to as a wedding stylist.
🍩 Planners who do all of the logistical organising, from timelines and runsheet through to budget control. Amazing at running the event on the day with absolute precision.
🧁Planners who dabble in both, but perhaps to a lesser extent than someone who is an expert in one of the two areas above. More of an all rounder across both fields.

Me, personally? I would say I’m a dabbler - we create concept designs, but anything particularly tricky with florals or rigging we will leave safely in the hands of an expert team, that we help you to select. I love a good runsheet and I am extremely organised, so I’d probably say if I had to choose, that I’m more of your logistical, behind the scenes, event manager.

Let’s talk GREENERY 🌿

So what is greenery? These are all the pretty leaves and branches that make up the non-floral part of your bouquet and table centrepieces.

A few fun things to note about greenery:

🌱 It is a beautiful addition to floral centrepieces, but can also look stunning by itself. Try a runner of greenery only down your banquet tables, with a few candles, for a simple yet effective centrepiece. Or try greenery draped over your wedding dress, like this epic pic!

🌿 Greenery matches with most wedding themes and styles, from rustic to minimalist. It’s so versatile!

🍃 Saving the best til last - greenery is also cost effective. By adding greenery into your bouquet and centrepieces, you can reduce the amount of flowers you will need. Translation? You’ll save loads! Adding greenery will make your dollar stretch just the little bit further, so you can have the luxe flowers you want without having to resort to a different flower due to price.

Get to know me a little bit more today...Let me tell you why I started my business.

My background is in Marketing, which I loved for a really long time, until I didn’t. Everyday I felt like:
🚫 No one wanted my opinion.
🚫 I was being constantly told I was “too much” or didn’t fit into the box I was meant to.
🚫 I had to close off or cover everything about myself in order to keep other people happy,

I left that job and realised:
❤️ What I have to offer is amazing, I have so many skills and opinions that are valuable
❤️ I’m not “too much” - I am just the right amount.
❤️ The things that make me different are the things that make me special, and being yourself and being authentic? Those are the best feelings ever. Squishing down your personality every day really, really sucked.

And now? I love what I do. And people pay me for my opinions and like me just the way I am. It’s an awesome feeling to be able to just breathe and be yourself.

With that in mind - I have SO much empathy for people who are a little different, or just want to express themselves a little differently to everybody else. There is NOTHING wrong with you, and you are so perfect the way you are. Your event or wedding is the perfect time to share all of those things you love, the things that are important to you, and all your personal values with the world.

🖤 GRATEFUL for the little things you don’t often think about - like the feel of sunshine on your face, after a week of such intense, rainy weather in Sydney.
🖤 HAPPY - that content feeling of drinking a perfectly made latte this morning. There’s nothing like a barista made coffee, although capsule coffee gets me through the day!
🖤 TIRED - my late night trip down the YouTube rabbit hole is not a good habit!
🖤 EXCITED - I’m looking forward to taking a bit of a break soon and seeing some more of this beautiful country we have here.

With that in mind, I’m feeling pretty blessed today with all the wonderful people I have in my life, and all the wonderful people I have had the pleasure of working with lately!

One reason I really wanted to become a wedding planner is because when it comes to not feeling like you fit in, I’ve been there. Maybe you look at all the wedding blogs, or images on websites, or even your friends’ weddings and think, “Those are lovely, but they’re just not... ME.”

Maybe you’ve been made to feel that the things you like are a bit too weird. Uncool. Too different to the mainstream.

I’ve been there. I’ve had that feeling of being the odd one out in the room, I’ve had the raised eyebrows at an outfit I’ve worn, I’ve felt I’ve had to “tone it down” around some people. And that feeling? Is pretty rubbish, honestly.

And sorry, but on your wedding day, I’m not having it. It’s YOUR day. Let’s find a way to make your style, your interests, the things that YOU and your partner like, front and centre. You should never apologise for being you, and for loving what you love.

So what floats your boat? Let’s find a way to weave it into your wedding, and make it the BEST. DAY. EVER.

One year ago, life was very different for me. Things were tough. I made the decision to close one chapter of life - with no idea of what would come next. I opened a business. And then COVID happened - how would I weather the storm in front of me?

Sometimes you just have to trust that everything will work out, and that no matter what happens you will cope. And, hopefully you will not only survive, but thrive. 💛

I am so glad I hung in there and made it through 1 year. Here’s to 2021!

Here’s my story.

Did I always want to be a wedding planner? Nope. I had no idea what I wanted to be, and tried on many hats along the way. Journalist, Makeup artist, PR guru, Sales, Marketing - they were all fine, but nothing felt quite... right.

That is, until I took the time to really think about the different parts of my life, which were all clues that led me to start this business. Crumbs along the path, to lead me along the path to where I should go.

Those crumbs included:
🧳 My meticulously planned trips around the world, where I would coordinate buses, trains, planes, sightseeing, into a 20 page document.
🎁 The personal touch - I always loved finding the perfect gift when it came time for Christmas and birthdays.
🎨 Creativity - I love to mix and match, whether it’s interiors, and outfit, or even the best playlist ever.
✨ A bit of excitement - I love a party, I love dressing up, I love the magic of getting swept up in something BIG.
🦄 A strong belief that I should never water myself down or stop being who I am - and neither should you.

I realised I wanted to go out on my own, and use my skills to do something that made people feel special, and good about themselves. So here we are - I’m now an events and wedding planner, the owner of my own small business, and I love it.

Sometimes it takes a while to find the thing you are meant to do, but you know what? Maybe that’s just to make sure you’ve collected all the skills you needed along the way. ☺️

Noone wants a wedding that they look back, and feel very lukewarm about. You might be thinking, how do we incorporate the things we love into our wedding?

It may sound tricky, but it can be done - take this brilliant wedding which included nods to the bride’s Mexican heritage with a Day of the Dead influence, coupled with a few nods to the couple’s love of Star Wars movies. You can go extremely subtle, by adding in some personal touches here an there - or hey, you can go level 10, and add Stormtroopers to your bridal party. Either way is very cool, and we love a challenge 🧡

The best weddings are the ones where YOU love everything on the day - life is too short to water yourself down for anyone else.
