The weekend just gone, was our last wedding for the season! That means it’s time to work BTS on website fine tuning, checking and updating our templates and looking at our proposal process so when you enquire and book with MeOhMy, everything is even easier and stress free!

We have a quiet winter ahead and excitedly heading to Europe next week for a couple months! But this doesn’t mean I won’t be working on your beautiful weddings. I might be a little slower to respond, with time differences, but I’ll still be checking and answering all your emails and quoting as usual! We’ll be back mid August to kick off our 24/25 wedding season 😊

It’s OKAY to say no!

During your wedding planning, odds are you’re going to decline a vendor. Up until recently, this made me so awkward and nervous but with age and experience has come ‘wisdom’ and I’ve realised the ‘ghosting’ path is so much worse.

Getting quotes is part of the process and in the end, not all vendors will be the right fit. Saying no to a vendor doesn’t require an explanation. A simple thank you for your time putting together the proposal but we’ve decided to go in a different direction, works perfectly. But if you do want to let us know why, it will help us improve for future couples.

We’ll be disappointed but we will also appreciate the honesty and can then release the date for others. Also as an added bonus, it saves you from receiving our follow up emails 😉

For us, there is no such thing … BUT let me explain 😊

EACH STEM IS ACCOUNTED FOR ... as part of your wedding proposal, we have a spreadsheet with floral recipes for each floral element on your quote. When we organise your order with our wholesalers, we use the spreadsheet recipes, which include a breakdown of flower varieties and quantities.

WE ONLY BUY WHAT WE NEED … market mornings are crazy fun and it CAN be so easy to overspend. BUT with my trusty spreadsheet and many years of disciplined self-control 😜 we stick to budget and only purchase the correct quantity of flowers for your day.

ALL FLORALS NEED TO BE PLANNED FOR … cake flowers, flower pins, welcome signs etc although they seem like small things, they still need to be accounted for. When setting up on the wedding day we don’t have buckets of leftovers, so it’s not as easy as sticking a few spare stems here and there. Apart from needing to purchase these flowers at market, time also needs to be allocated for these designs.

NO NEED TO WORRY THOUGH … if you’ve forgotten something, it can still be added to your quote. Six weeks before your wedding day, you’ll receive an email from us to confirm your florals. This is your opportunity to check over your proposal and add any items you may have originally forgotten.

Hey it’s me, Megan, the girl behind the blooms and business! When you send through an enquiry, this is the face you’ll be chatting too.

Like most small business owners, I wear lots of hats! Custom liaisons ie email replier, phone answer-er, designer, creator, van packer, bucket filler, flower shopper, delivery driver, financial officer, boss lady … I'm a bit of everything and I LOVE it! I love the freedom, the creativity, being my own boss and I love how it fits around my family and friends.

As a creative, I mostly let my work do the talking. My comfort is behind the scenes … a happy, quietly achieving place BUT I also believe it’s important to redefine, step beyond comfort zone, push, up skill, continue to learn and educate, so I’m able put my best foot forward both personally and in business.

To show there is a person on the other side of the grid, someone who has so much joy for flowers and her sweet couples, here are a few FUN FACTS 😊

🥛I’m a glass half full kinda girl but can be an over thinker.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👧👨‍👦I’m a wife to a super supportive, patient husband (29 years married this year), proud Mum of to daughters and son in law and doting Mimi to our gorgeous grandson Theodore Rex.

🌈I can’t get enough of colour and pattern! Be it flowers, doona covers or my Merry People boots, it’s colour all the way!

😎I’ve never really been one to follow trends. Probably because I’ve never been cool enough and because I believe in “do you boo”.

🌳I love nature and the beauty she shares. The best times are when we’re camping, exploring and travelling this beautiful country.

Did you know it’s NATIONAL PLANT A TREE DAY tomorrow?

National Tree Day was established in 1996 and has grown into Australia's largest community tree planting and nature care event. While every day can be Tree Day, Schools Tree Day and is dedicated to the last Friday and last Sunday in July.

To support the volunteers to continue their work, Planet Ark’s Seedling Bank was founded. It’s an evolution of the work done through National Tree Day, which has seen over 26 million trees, shrubs and grasses planted. The SEEDLING BANK has provided funding for over 80,000 seedlings to 132 school and community groups. This year they’re set to fund another 50,000 seedlings all around Australia.

Hundreds of groups apply for grants each year. In 2022, they supported 8% of applications and this year were able to SUPPORT 22%. To help grow the Seedling Bank and support regeneration projects around Australia, more funds are needed.
