On the 16th of March it was my turn and it was the most amazing day!! 🤍💍

What I learnt from planning a wedding:

1. Don’t sweat the small stuff
It is so easy to get caught up in the minor details being perfect, like which font to use on your invites, honestly no one cares, stop spending time and stressing about these little details and put your time and energy into the things that actually matter

2. Spend money on the things you actually enjoy
If you have an unlimited budget, that’s great but if not, focus on a couple of elements to spend your money on, for example, if you and your partner love music but aren’t big foodies spend the money on a band or dj you like rather than going with the fanciest caterer that is going to serve things you don’t actually care about

3. People will RSVP they are coming and still not turn up
Things happen, people get sick or circumstances change, it sucks but accept this now, at the end of the day as long as you and your partner are there that is all that matters … oh and the celebrant 😉

4. No one cares about your wedding as much as you do
While this might be the biggest day of your life, it is not the biggest day of someone else’s life. Remember you are probably thinking about this day 24/7 with all the planning and organising so it is at the front of your mind but it isn’t for everyone else, try not to take it personally.

5. It will go way too quick
You plan a wedding for 12+ months and on the day you blink and it’s over. Try and be present and enjoy it , there is nothing more you can do once the day is here so relax and trust you have done all the planning and just enjoy. I’m so thankful for and .e.knight for capturing my day !!

Lastly, remember what the wedding is actually about, it’s not about how beautiful the flowers are, what other people think of your food selection or even how beautiful the venue is, at the end of the day it is about expressing your love and making a commitment to the person you want to spend the rest of your life with 🤍
