Meet Emma!
Emma came to Rabbits in 2014 after working at Est. Restaurant in Sydney. Emma is a qualified chef; pastry chef and a specialist in all things sweet! She makes all our pastry, sweets, desserts and wedding cakes and is a perfectionist in all things.
Unbelievably she has never watched Lord of the Rings.
We are thrilled to have Emma on our team 🙂

Q. What do you love about working for rabbits?
A. I love feeling part of a team or should I say a family. All the chefs are just legends… aside from the great team I love working with the best and freshest, seasonal and local produce. I enjoy the variety of our menus and no wedding is the same. I love that feeling of being an integral part of someone’s very special day.

Q. What do you love to cook?
A. My heart has always been in patisserie. I love to bake all things sweet! I think it honestly dates back to baking with my nana and aunty all through my childhood.
I do have a love for chocolate even though it is temperamental 🙄( Ha! Nice pun Emma!) 🤣

Q. Where to travel?
A. I am a snow bunny so I love New Zealand + Canada and the French alps and Japan is next on the cards… snow and amazing cuisine it’s a win win!

Q. Passion is??
A. My daughter and baking with her just like I did with my aunty.

Q. Street food or posh nosh?
A. If I’m traveling I’m all about authentic street food and getting amongst the locals.

Q. Land or sea?
I love both …. Fresh seafood or a nice steak or roast, so good!

Q. Champagne or whisky?
A. Whisky definitely!

Q. Dream dinner party guest?
A. Morgan Wallen or Miranda Lambert for sure….

WINNER!!
We were totally thrilled to be announced the NSW winner for the Best-Independent-Caterer at the ABIA awards this week!!!
It was a very unexpected win but we are so thankful for the honour.
We are proud to be a small part of this industry, proud to be a part of one of the few cultural significant celebrations in the lives of families + couples, and always proud to bring people together around the table with great food + drink 🍑🥃

Thank-you a million times to Belle who sadly couldn’t make it to the event but is one of the beating hearts of our business.

Bruichladdich distillery, Isle of Islay.

Have been talking about touring the Scottish Isles for years and finally got there with a good mate and fellow Chef beside me this Winter. A ‘Macdonald’ and a ‘Mclean’ no less.
Whisky was high on the agenda of course, just above Cod and Cardigans.
Seeing the ancient machinery, the craft, the barrels, the absolute basics of these often family run distilleries was incredibly wholesome and grounding. The absolute simplicity of it all! Folks have distilled for millennia of course, using ingredients that are in abundance and at-the-ready. It’s all science, but such ancient science and its not changed!
We learnt so much, peeked in every nook and cranny, tasted every part of the process…and soaked it all up with some great seafood 🦞🦞🦞
Highly recommended. Feeling thankful, cheers to good friends, good food and good drink 🥃🐟
