Located in Birchs Bay, along side the beautiful D'Entrecasteaux Channel, 35 mins from Hobart. This picturesque 300 acres of farm land is open to explore.

With walking tracks, kitchen garden, orchard, vineyard and a venue there is something for everyone! Five Bob Farm is a destination for all to enjoy. The property ‘Five Bob Farm’, at Birchs Bay, supports an eclectic business mix. Comprising of a range of activities and businesses from Diemen Pepper, our native food enterprise, to our beautiful kitchen garden that provides produce for our employees,

volunteers & local restaurants to our vineyard, horticulture set up and our stunning Venue that is available to book for special events, community groups, health & wellbeing and much more. We would like to encourage all our community to use this space. Five Bob Farm is also the home of "Art Farm Birchs Bay" which provides a relaxing and unique walk around a natural gallery and garden via the "sculpture trail". With over 200 acres on the farm, we continue to evolve and look for new ways to engage the community. We are all about bringing people together to enjoy the space we have. The farm is open to the public and we look forward to hosting you.

Join Friends of Five Bob Farm Landcare and the Great Southern BioBlitz on Saturday October 25th (9:30am-2pm) to find out! We'll be using iNaturalist to document everything from wildflowers to water bugs, with guided walks and talks about our local Landcare group. BYO lunch, walking boots, and weather-appropriate gear - this is citizen science at its finest. Who's keen to discover what biodiversity we've got thriving here on the Channel?

Halloween is creeping closer! 🎃 Join us Friday October 31st for our Frightful Feast - the perfect mix of spooky and delicious. Wood-fired pizza from , wine by the glass, and a Halloween Hunt by through the pear orchard for the kids. It's the opening night of Spring in the Vines and everyone's welcome from 4-8pm. Fivebob Pinot Noir 2023: A Wine That Practically Winks at You

Let’s be honest: this wine didn’t just stroll into the room. It kicked the door open wearing sunglasses, holding a guitar, and somehow already had a fan club.

Hand-picked grapes? Absolutely. Gently pressed? Like a baby duck being patted dry with Egyptian cotton. Aged in seasoned French oak? Naturally — this is a wine with better travel stories than you. And with only 1,272 bottles made, it’s rarer than a tradesman showing up on time.

The first sip? It tastes like someone squeezed a punnet of cherries, a handful of strawberries, and just a dash of “I’m cooler than you” straight into your glass. There’s a whisper of spice in there too, like cinnamon crashed the party but knew when to leave.

At 12.9%, it’s the perfect co-pilot: lively enough to make you funnier at dinner, but not so strong that you end up singing power ballads to your cat afterward. The finish lingers just long enough to remind you this was a good decision.

Fivebob Pinot Noir 2023: Less a wine, more a personality you want to invite to every barbecue, dinner party, and questionable Tuesday night decision.

back to our 2024 Pinot Gris. Those lovely bright aromas of nashi pear and freshly cut feijoas are just perfect for this time of year. The savoury edges of green pear skins give it that lovely balance. This wine has that crunchy texture and unctuous body that makes you want to keep sipping. Pairs beautifully with roast pork and apple puree - proper comfort food! What's your winter comfort food pairing? 🍐

First brave signs that spring is stirring beneath all this winter chill! These daffodils are popping up around the farm like little messengers saying "hang in there, warmer days are coming." We're not quite ready to pack away the winter woolies yet, but seeing these cheerful faces makes the vineyard pruning work a bit more pleasant. What are the first spring signs you've spotted around your place?

Someone's been busy in the night! 's mysterious artist Worm has left us another beautiful surprise - a perfect little picnic set nestled under the pear trees. There's something magical about discovering these handcrafted pieces appearing around the farm. Winter afternoons just got a bit more special with a place to sit and watch the world wake up for spring. Who else loves stumbling across unexpected art in everyday places?

When life gives you an abundance of lemons... we share them with you! Our lemon trees have gone absolutely mad this winter and we've got way more than we can use. Perfect timing for all those winter soups, marmalades, and hot toddies. If you're after bulk lemons for preserving or cooking, let us know - we'd love to find them good homes rather than letting them go to waste. What's your favorite way to use a mountain of lemons?

featuring our 2024 Chardonnay. This one's bright and sparkly with those fresh rock melon and Meyer lemon peel aromas. The lively tangy acidity gives it heaps of drive and energy - perfect for cutting through winter's heavier meals. Our grapes from the Channel seem to love showing off their tropical side, even in the cooler months. Goes brilliantly with green curry! What's your favourite pairing with bright, citrusy wines? 🍈

Our pepperberry plants are looking absolutely loaded this season! These little black beauties are what put Five Bob Farm on the global spice map - we process the majority of the world's commercial pepperberry harvest right here on the Channel. These plants are thriving and we've always got some available at the farm gate. Have you tried cooking with native pepperberries yet?
