A couple of months ago I created the florals for this beautiful local couple 🤍 The bride requested king proteas and pastels, roses, lisianthus, snow berry, snap dragons, “Mum” chrysanthemums, sprays roses and misty. We were lucky enough to celebrate with the gorgeous pair later that night 🤍

From Wednesday the 26th to Saturday the 29th I’ll be out of the studio! Max and I are off to the Sunshine Coast with the crew, and I’m excited!

Last week Binalong farewelled one its most treasured ladies, she lived a very full 100 years and 9 months.
The family requested bright reds and pinks, with touches of white, roses as a feature, as her husband used to pick rose posies from the garden for her regularly. The 4 “Mum” chrysanthemums are to represent her 4 children.
Lisianthus, protea, spray rose, snap dragons and leucadendrons also featured.
Always an honour to create for a beautiful local.

We are in peak hydrangea season 💙 I adore these! I can definitely recommend sending these lush beauties in a vase, because as the name suggests, they are thiiiiirrrstyyy! And it’s hot 😅Recutting stems and putting in a clean fresh vase of water every second day will pro-long their vase life. Plenty more in stock ✅

This is a tribute I made a few weeks ago, for a local gentleman.
I used a variety of natives, king protea, grevillea, gum nuts, wax, leucadendron, kangaroo paw, coccinea and gum, with bright roses, vanda orchid, lisianthus, sea holly, spray rose and alstroemeria.
He will be remembered for his work ethic, stoicism and strength.

R E - I N T R O 🙋🏼♀️
Allow me to re-introduce myself, its been a hot minute!
I am Zoe Giles, the floral creator behind Harvest Flora.
I originally wanted to take floristry classes when I left high school, I remember walking into our little local florist in Naracoorte, South Australia and just feeling like I was in heaven!Life re-routed me more into the agricultural scene, which in hindsight was a wonderful thing, as I took business courses and gained all sorts of skills and a laid great foundation for where I am today.
Remembering back to that initial love for flowers, I re-started my foray into flowers in 2016 working at a local florist in Yass, then completing my floristry certificate in late 2018. I then worked at a florist in Canberra for a year, starting my own business half way through that year, starting trade from the legendary Home Finch store in Boorowa. 2019 was the second year of severe drought for us and 2020 brought with it another curve ball- lockdowns! In the throws of opening and closing, I started working solely from my home studio in Binalong, where I still happily work today!
Here’s a few other tid bits about me!
✨I’ve recently started taking ballet lessons again, I love it, the discipline, technique, music and grace (more from watching my teacher 😬)

In this hot weather, I recommend adding a vase to your order. The flowers come arranged, in cool fresh water, with flower food already added. The recipient has no unpacking and arranging to do, and they get to keep the vase! 🙌

Yesterday I made a few stories asking for specific wedding vendor suggestions, for a local bride, who was new to the area. I was blown away by the responses, with some well known (and amazing!) suppliers and quite a few I’d never heard of- it was eye opening!
It made me think there was probably loads more I hadn’t heard about- and I regularly get asked for suggestions and recommendations.

Early in the new year, Binalong lost one of its favourite local lads, born and bred.
The family reached out to me, and requested “man flowers” incorporating combs and cutters, as he was a great shearer.
I used a king protea, and a selection of Australian natives, with orchids, roses and spray roses.
Accompanying the casket cover were 2 vase arrangements for the wake.
This man endured some really tough challenges in his life, and he will be remembers for his fighting spirit, grit and tremendous work ethic.

I have always had a green thumb, and after many years of business, art and design courses and wanting to get into floristry, I took the leap. I am based in the beautiful “Home Finch” Boorowa, and in my home studio in Binalong. In November I completed my qualifications at CIT Canberra, where I had the privilege of having some amazing teachers, who I am grateful to still have friendships with. I continue to work at a florist in Manuka, ACT.
