Tips on wedding bouquets - for brides 💍

🌼 HOW TO CHOOSE FLOWERS FOR YOUR BOUQUET
Choose a florist who’s style you love, a colour palette and/or an overall aesthetic. Easy as that!

🌼 HOW TO HOLD YOUR BOUQUET
There’s little pearl pins at the back of your bouquet. Think ‘pins to belly button’ and you’ll be spot on. Shoulders down, don’t hide your face & try to tilt it forward slightly (easy than it all sounds haha)

🌼 SILK RIBBON OR NOT?
Up to you! Does it go with your dress and the vibe of your overall wedding? If you’re unsure - ask us. We’d love to play and see if it suits or not

🌼 LONG STEMS OR SHORT STEMS?
We generally use fairly short stems unless specifically requested (generally with long stem roses).
This ensures the bouquet is held well and also naturally tilted a touch forward due to the weight. It also means the stems aren’t poking into you.

🌼 MAIDS TO MATCH?
It depends on your wedding vibe but playing with having a single flower en masse for each maid is a really beautiful idea. Otherwise playing with different colour blocking is playful. It also depends on the maids dresses!

🌼 CAN I CHOOSE THE SIZE?
Nope! We have set prices for our personals which allows us to create in the style we love to create in. Come to us if you love a more full bouquet, a little wild & garden-like. We don’t vibe with the maids holding only a stem or two - or anything too ball-like a perfectly structured.

3 simple ways to repurpose wedding flowers from ceremony to reception 💍

🤩 SAVE for later 🤩
⠀
Repurposing isn’t always possible so make sure to check with us first!
⠀
Keep in mind:
👉🏼 the weather makes a huge impact on the flowers. If it’s windy or hot, chances are the ceremony flowers won’t look as fresh & alive to last through the whole reception (they are built for the ceremony)
⠀
👉🏼 if the ceremony feature is attached to an existing structure (e.g the Bendooley hoop/ring) it’s a ‘no’ from us for repurposing. The flowers are intricately woven through chicken wire and placed in water tubes, as well as cut to a certain length for the ceremony design.
⠀
👉🏼 move the ceremony features into the reception as a BONUS. Don’t rely on them as the only arrangements in the reception space (e.g bouquets as table arrangements are simply a bonus - not the feature)

How do we process the flowers before creating the arrangements? 🕊✨
⠀
Once we bring the flowers back to the studio from the flower markets in sydney:
⠀
⭐️ Unpack the car
⭐️ Unwrap ALL the packaging - plastic sleeves, cardboard, rubber bands (there’s alot)
⭐️ Trim, scold, strip, bash - different flowers need one or two of these methods. Each is said to open the stems to encourage more water uptake therefore expanding the lifespan
⭐️ Chuck any dead flowers (sometimes they’ll come bruised or their heads may snap)
⭐️ Reflex the roses (depending on the timeline of the schedule)
⭐️ Place all flowers in fresh, clean water in clean buckets in a dark, cool space
⠀
Depending on the scope of the event, processing the product can take hours to days to complete! Lots of time loving our blooms and ensuring they look beautiful.
