Making sure your alignment and functional motion is correct is so important in order to develop correct technique and avoid injury.

Incorrect turnout can often result in pronation, or rolling in, of the ankles and feet. This can result in overuse injuries of the knees and ankles, and toe deformity eg. bunions. In addition, pointe shoes can put increased pressure on the toes/knees and hips, which further exacerbates these conditions. Getting your turnout and ankle/foot strength right prior to pointe work is paramount for long term success. Book in for a pre-pointe assessment with SW Physiotherapy to maximise your childs' success.
