Oh it’s been awhile but with tomatoes from Araluen from Troy Harrison, garlic from Georgina Watson and chillies from my garden last year … tomato chilli chutney is on the boil and we will be jarring it ( we have also jarred our onion jam for sale )
Tomorrows specials will be:

We have a ginger, apple almond cake as a new addition and I’ll whip up pecan cinnamon scrolls , along with the usual muffins, scones, melting moments … wicked triple choc Cara milk biscuits , Local Hazelwood rhubarb and coconut cake, almond orange and ginger cakes, and I’ll whack out a poached pear and date cake w/ salted caramel …. Oh and a Hummingbird cake

Oh… Christmas was a joy, the boys and their partners all came home, and Jake and Ange did an amazing job of hosting Christmas Eve ( thanks Jake for the cocktails) , Christmas Day with my parents and brother and his girls and the boys and their partners in Durrass , t … how absolutely fabulous is it to have small children , that remind us all of the joy of Christmas…. Hours of getting it to the bubble …. I haven’t done a lasagne for a while … cooking is scientific , it’s browning and caramelising onion, browning mince , adding tomatoes and sugar, slow simmering the tomatoes they need reducing … I add already dry roasted and ground spices and then simmer again for what seems for ever …. It’s Friday night …i love cooking … I love having to make the most simplest things the best things… home cooking … we aren’t flash , just passionate
