‘World Friendship’ tulip. My favourite this year (so far). Super long stems and the perfect shade of butter. Certainly something we could do with more of at this time in the world’s history. I’d like to see the World as one, all standing hand in hand 🎶 . I think John Lennon would have approved of this beauty.

These messages say it all. I was so laid back that I forgot to take any photos of the workshops over the weekend but we had two groups of delightful participants who bogged in (it was a bit wet today 😝) and dug and divided like pro’s. We all shared stories of our gardens and our lives and had a great time. Thankyou to all who joined in.

I have three spots still available for Sundays workshop. 🌱💚It’s time to dig the Dahlias again! Join me for a morning of fun and learning as we head into the Earth Blooms garden to dig up and clean the clumps of dahlias. Then we will head into the Flower Shed to divide and learn how to store the precious tubers. We will break for a delicious morning tea and you will take home a bag of ten tubers to store until spring when you replant them in your own garden and watch the magic begin again. Cost: $90 includes morning tea and your big bag of mixed tubers.
Message or call me to book. Linda 0427 933 368.

I brought the last few roses inside as I pruned them today. The cute green glass vase I found at the Bridgetown Sunday market 💚I’m back home after a wonderful month in the U.K. is there anything prettier than an English summer? We were blessed with lovely weather and YES I did get to Sissinghurst Castle and Garden and YES my mind is blown ! Now I must have a walled garden (at least one) and box hedges, I’m looking for the black lace bush (Dark burgundy Elderflower!) and unapologetically in love again with all the English flowers. I’ve come back to an overwhelm of weeds in the flower garden so I’ve been on my knees for days searching for all the spring seedlings. The good news is I’ve found them all, fertilised them and Mother Nature is watering them well. The tulips are all up and looking mighty fine too and the Dahlias have wound down and are ready to dig. So I’ll be posting dates for Dahlia Dig and divide workshops in the next day or so. Message me if you’d like to get on the early birds list. Looking forward to a fabulous new season of flowers with you all. We should have blooms to share by August 🤞🏻😀🌷🌷🌷🌷

To all our wonderful supporters THANKYOU for journeying through another season of flowers with us. We won’t have flowers for sale now until August when the spring bulbs and hardy annuals start blooming and we are so excited to share the gorgeous blooms we have in store for you . There will be some old favourites and some fantastic new varieties and colours next season. Work doesn’t stop in the picking garden though and I’ll share some of our winter preparations with you as we go. Today we built a ‘lasagne’ bed over the old solidago and yarrow bed to solve the problem of trying to dig it all out! This will be our tulip bed this year. More perennials are moving out to make way for annuals and a bed of ‘filler and foliage’ is in the planning. Watch this space for dates for the ‘Dahlia dig and Divide’ workshops over winter. See you in the spring!

Today I’m grateful for yesterday’s soaking rain after so many dry months here in the South West 🙏🏻 and my new Gorilla cart! This will be a game changer for hauling heavy buckets of flowers from the picking garden to the flower shed 😀 I’m also grateful to hubby Nick Maxfield for getting up at 5 am to put the cart together for me 😘
