Incredible news, AHC have secured a $1,978,690 grant as part of the Federal Urban Rivers Catchments Program for the Cox Creek Bridgewater restoration project.
This is a collaborative project with key partners including National Parks and Wildlife Service, Friends of Mount George Conservation Park, Arbury Park Outdoor School, Bridgewater Friends of Cox Creek, National Trust SA (as owners of Engelbrook Reserve) and National Trust bushcare volunteers, Trees For Life, Bridgewater Hotel, Bridgewater Mill and other private landholders.
The project will protect and improve the ecological values of Cox Creek near Bridgewater, South Australia. Key activities include removal of habitat-transforming woody weeds, stabilisation of eroding streambanks, and riparian restoration through revegetation with native species.
Sixth Creek Catchment Group Inc have also secured $299K for the project Re-establish biodiversity in sustainable riparian habitats of Sixth Creek.
