There’s a bunch of new faces on here soooo I think it’s time for a little ✨re-introduction✨
My name is Ellie and I’m the owner of this flower baby I call Esmé Fleur…
🤍 I started my business in the midst of COVID times in late 2020, starting off with bouquets & a few workshops then moving into the wedding realm in 2021.
🤍 I’ve been a florist since I was 15, literally jumped straight in and never looked back. It’s my absolute passion and I wouldn’t change it for the world!
🤍 I’m a Gemini (I know I know) but honestly I’m a big believer in astrology and I feel like being a Gemini makes me a super good communicator and I have a million thoughts 24/7 that I somehow manage to organise in my brain hehe.
🤍 I have a sausage dog called Floss (Florence is her big girl name) and a blue cattle dog called Maisy (we call her Daisy a lot). They’re a very unusual pair but are the best sisters and often see them cuddling eachother - that or fighting for my attention.
🤍 My favourite things to do when I’m not flowering up for beautiful couples is heading to the beach for the day, going out for cocktails and food with my girls, online shopping for new vases/ceramics (that I really don’t need), adding cute pieces to my wardrobe, meticulously styling my home, going for BIG walks with the doggos and listening to true crime docos 🤌🏼
🤍 My biggest struggle as a business owner is imposter syndrome and procrastination. I know so many other business owners that struggle with this and although I ALWAYS get the job done and love it, there’s a part of my brain that is always criticising. I do feel I’ve improved so much over the last couple of years with this as my confidence has grown but it’s always a little difficult!
Thank you endlessly for all of the support and love, it really means the world. I’m incredibly blessed to have such a wonderful community around me and so excited to continue on this creative & business journey (plus hopefully we know each other a little better now) 🫶🏼🌸✨

Sweet little moments from Cate & Scott’s special day 🍰🤍
Cate came to me with her ideas & a colour palette for her day. We worked together to create a stunning vision and she left it in our hands to bring her wedding florals dreams to life.
She had her heart set on hydrangea, but with the season usually ending by March/April I couldn’t guarantee it, however the flower gods (), were able to source a small amount of white hydie. I popped it in her bridal bouquet and a little throughout the ceremony & reception florals - Cate was overjoyed!!
This wedding was a special one, and thank you to Cate & Scott for their trust and being such amazing clients.

🤍Designing
Consultations, emails, quotes, contracts, invoices, mood boards, research, final run-through, ordering, spreadsheets, stem counts, ordering flowers from suppliers.
🤍Markets
Drive to flower markets at 4am, choose the best blooms, pick-up orders, pack car, drive home.
🤍Processing
Unpack the car, unwrap all plastic and cardboard, undo rubber bands and twine, strip, peel, trim, scold, bash. Place in fresh buckets of water in the flower fridge.
🤍Creating
Creating the actual arrangements. Keeping them alive, ensuring the product looks fresh and is visually appealing as well as meeting the brief. Storing safely. Keeping cool.
🤍Wedding Day
Pack the car, deliver personals, drive to venue, unpack car, on-site setup and creating the features, staff & freelancers, keeping area clean and tidy, sticking to schedule.
🤍Bump Out
Midnight or early Sunday morning, drive to venue, pack down all flowers and hire items, ensure space is clean and tidy, drive home, unpack.
🤍After the wedding
Cleaning buckets, vases and hire items, disposing of waste correctly, re-setting the studio, cleaning up, returning any hire vans.
On top of this, our job includes things like: marketing, educating, Instagram, Tiktok, Pinterest, accounting, book keeping, chasing invoices, paying bills, hiring & managing a team, creating relationships with wholesalers, venues & vendors, the website, SEO, vehicles, insurance, specialty days & events (eg. Valentine’s Day), managing the mindset of a business owner - each a whole/department within itself.
Our labour price is 20% of the total FLORAL cost. This is so we can create incredible wedding florals and put our all into your day whilst also making sure we have our end of things covered. I’m always here to talk about pricing & clarify anything you need, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

Introducing the new era of Esmé Fleur 🤍 I started this business just over 3 years ago, and throughout growing as a florist, person & business I decided it was time for a refresh, a new beginning…
My biggest goal is to bring a feeling & emotion into a space through the language of flowers, whether that be through weddings, events, workshops or a gifted bouquet.
The name Esmé Fleur has a French undertone as Esme is my middle name, after my great grandmother who was French, and ‘fleur’ is ‘flower’ in French. By bringing a new level of sophistication to my brand, it matches my ever-evolving style & pushes me to create beyond boundaries.
Staying grounded and flowing with the seasons, we don’t want to complicate flowers. They are literal magic on earth. Our medium. Our muse.
I invite you on this creative journey with me, and look forward to sharing all the magic I’ll be creating this year. The new website is in its very final stages of completion, launching this week where we will be available for bouquet orders and workshop tickets, including everything you need to learn about our weddings, events, me and the business!
