With interest rates going up (again!) and many people struggling to make ends meet, having a party can seem out of reach.

Party bags, lollies and cake decorations that glow!
We recommend fluoro stretchy noodles and bubble wands and some of the brighter coloured fidgets and bouncy balls.
Yellow and green snake lollies and watermelon sour patch gummies will glow under black light, as will the packaged sherbert sticks. We couldn’t find any other lollies or chocolates that glowed and we sampled a lot (someone has to do it)!
Rolkem cake decorating powder is incredible and a tiny bit goes a long way in buttercream icing or to paint words/greeting onto your cake.

Planning a glow party but don’t have hours to source entertainment and decorations?

Here are some of the fun items we recommend which will entertain guests for hours.
Kids absolutely love balloons that glow under black light or which light up from inside. These alone were fun for anyone 10 and under to play “keep uppy” or to bounce and bop to each other.
Older kids, 8 and up, really enjoyed the light up poi balls. By the end of the night, they had worked out how to make some great patterns and teach tricks to their friends.

Welcome to Arendelle!

Take your party guests on a magical journey to find the missing snowman ☃️ and unravel the mystery of Ahtohallan.

Our party story begins when they walk through the gates and find out that Olaf has gone missing. Everyone makes a magical ice wand to prepare for the journey!

Now it’s time to follow the snowballs and see where the trail leads.

When we find a magical salamander that makes fire, we feed him a snow flake to help him cool down and he leads us to a treasure chest.

We make a circle and each time the music stops, we choose a piece of treasure. At the bottom of the chest, there is a map that shows us how to find Olaf!

We cross the sea and suddenly Elsa appears, and she makes it snow! ❄️

She tells us to wave our wands and it works! Olaf is found and he dances with us in the snow storm.

Want a party with live entertainment?

Our butterfly 🦋 tea party had a shade house full of live monarch butterflies! The children were delighted.

Our other activities included

🫧 Giant bubble blowing
🌸 Creating a flower crown,
🍪 Decorating a butterfly cookie
💎 Getting glamorous with stick on nails, jewellery and temporary tattoos
🎁 Pass the parcel with butterfly toys that fluttered out as you opened each layer

Party themes for older kids and tweens can be tricky.

But with a little creativity, your child and their friends can have an exciting and memorable celebration without any eye rolling or “this is lame” comments.

Here’s how we hosted an amazing Avengers party:

- Set up a candy table with balloons and lollies in the colours of the infinity stones. Each guest receives a party bag and can fill it with their favourite treats.

- Buy or rent a cool avengers backdrop. We sourced a fabric one that had photos of all the characters and it was a hit.

- Welcome the guests with a themed cupcake and some fruit for afternoon tea.

- Plan some high energy games. Here’s what our guests loved:

1. Hulk smash- green balloons with a Milky Way in each. Everyone pops as many as they can in a minute.

2. Become worthy of Thor’s hammer. We suspended a hoola hoop from our basketball ring and challenged the guests to see who could throw Thor’s hammer through the hoop.

3. Hawkeye’s target practice. We printed photos of the “baddies”- Thanos, Loki, Ultron etc. and stuck them to a wall. The guests lined up and were given Iron Man/Shang-Chi nerf guns, a Captain America shield or a silicone tipped bow and arrow set and they had to hit each villain.

4. Spider-Man dodge ball. The kids formed teams and had fun playing dodgeball with ultra soft balls.

5. Puzzles- a cool down game.
At this point, everyone was tired and hot. We split the guests into three teams to see who could assemble a customized avengers puzzle (with the birthday child’s face on it) the fastest.
The kids thought this was so cool they wouldn’t leave the activity even long after the timers went off.

6. Treasure hunt for infinity stones.
We played this in the park and there were 6 colours to collect. They were just coloured gems from the dollar shop but there was SO much enthusiasm we had to ensure the kids didn’t take more than one of each stone!

7. Capture the tesseract. My son loved this so much he can’t wait to play it again at his next party.
We used a light-up battery powered “capture the flag” set (see the photo below) and pretended the orbs were tesseracts. We had an expansion pack as well but you could easily use glow sticks for extra team members. By this stage it was night and the kids dashed around in the dark- thankfully we could see each one because of their light up wrist bands!

- Finally, we had “shawarma palace” tacos for dinner. The kids snuck in a quick swim and some icecream cake and we called it a night!
